It is January, which means that Spring Training and Season 3 of the Full Count is right around the corner. But first, we have the off-season free agency market to discuss. And boy did our boys do well. Last episode we talked about the Shohei Ohtani.  This episode, we’ll discuss some moves and questions.   Right off the bat, I’m going to talk about Japanese league sensation Yamamoto. On deck, I’m going to talk about slugger Teoscar Hernandez. And in the hole, I’m going to give my view on whether Hall of Famer Klayton Kershaw is coming back for another glorious year. 

Yes, it is December. But, guess what? There is still  a …  lot… of baseball news.   Right off the bat, Leon is going to talk about the biggest free agency signing ever. Yup, Othani is going to be wearing Blue! On deck, Leon will talk about the Glasnow signing and whether it was worth the cost.  And in the hole, he is going to talk about who else is on the free agency board, but mostly he will talk about Yamamoto. 

The Diamonbacks end the Dodgers’ season in an NLDS sweep. Right off the bat, Leon talks about the Dodgers’ early exit.  On deck,he talks about what the Dodgers need to do this off-season to improve.  And in the hole, Leon interviews a life-long Dodgers fan.

It is july and you know what that means… it is time for the All-Star Game and – if not mathematically then at least traditionally – we are midway through the season.  Right off the bat, I’m going to share my thoughts about the Dodgers and the national league west pennant race at the midpoint.  On deck, I’m going to talk about the 2023 All-Star Game in Seattle.  And in the hole, I’m going to talk about where the Dodgers’ team name comes from.

Well, it is finally here. Today is opening day of the 2023 MLB season. Let’s go Blue! Right off the bat, I’m going to talk about the Dodgers opening day lineup. There are a lot of new faces and so a lot to talk about.  On deck, we will take look at all the divisions and I’ll give my Pennant Predictions.  And in the hole, we’re going to talk about the new rules changes this season and how I expect them to change the game.

The World Baseball Classic is back and the U.S.A. is defending their 2017 title. Right off the bat, I’m going to talk about the match-up everyone had hoped we’d see: Otani versus Trout. On deck, why the World Baseball Classic is special. And in the hole, I’m going to talk about Trea Turner’s crazy offense throughout the tournament. 

It is finally spring, and you know what that means: spring training!  It is time to kick-off Season 2 of the Full Count! And this is a special episode because I’m coming to you from Arizona where I caught two games – one against the Brewers and one against the Cubs.  Right off the bat, I’m going to play some sounds from my spring training visit.  On deck, i’m going to talk about what it is like to go to Spring Training and what makes it so special.  And in the hole, i’m going to talk about my outlook for the Dodgers season. 

It is finally October, the best baseball month there is. Right off the bat, I’m going to talk about the Dodgers’ historic season. On deck, we are going to talk about Wild Card Weekend – I’m watching the Meta v Padres right now. And in the hole, I’m going to talk about what makes me most nervous about a series against the Mets and a series against the Padres.

Today’s episode is another roadie! My dad and I visit San Diego to see the Boys in Blue at PetCo Ballpark. it was a Sunday game, and so i got to run the PetCo bases.  And the day before, we walk across the border into Mexico for a taco crawl. Right off the bat, I take you to Mexico where I interview a long-time Dodgers fan named Deloris. On deck, we’ll go to PetCo and listen to the sounds of the game. In the hole, I interview padres fan Tim while we watch the Dodgers crush his team.

We have a special episode today. I normally divide the show into three segments: Right off the bat, On Deck, and In the Hole. But today we are just going to do one long segment on Baseball Idioms. I'm taking a middle school class called History Through Sports and this was the topic of conversation in the classroom today. So let's tighten our laces and bring it on home!
