In the mid-1900's, Communist China was put through the "Cultural Revolution," where dictator Mao Zedong used his "Red Army" of indoctrinated youth militants to transform society using the lessons in his "Little Red Book," which included removing the Four Olds from Chinese society: Old Customs, Habits, Culture, and Thinking.  Sound familiar?
