Cyrex & Super Elsy talking about everyday topics, random thoughts, & current events.
Lowkey No Way Out
…of the vortex… Trailer spoilers ahead! We open this week’s show by reacting to the new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home! The preview of the highly anticipated movie already has us on the edge of our seats! Plus, we discuss our thoughts on season 4 of Insecure (just before watching that season finale)! Later on, Lauren Boebert seems to have her amendments & commandments mixed up. She also went on a crazy nonsense rant at her buddy Paul Gosar’s censure hearing, which we react to. Plus, McEnany fed Trump what he wanted to hear on January 6th, Pete Hegseth is such a Fox “bro” & Bill Maher is a cranky mainstream lib. We also give our thoughts on the Rittenhouse verdict. Other topics include school supplies, Disney’s Noelle, Tom Hanks aka “America’s Dad,” superstores, & a spy conspiracy.

Our Table! It’s Broken!
Oh no! We open up on the road on some Pokemon GO vibes, discussing our finds & egg hatches. Plus, we talk about our favorite Disney characters in different categories. And later on, broken glass… everywhere! Congressman Paul Gosar is just desperate to look cool! His team put together an anime edit featuring him & fellow GQP cohorts attacking Congresswoman AOC, for which he has come under great scrutiny. Also, Elaine Chao is back, for some reason, to condescend to workers. Plus, we briefly cover yet another governor who basically hid COVID deaths, & the bipartisan infrastructure bill that passed & the fallout. Other topics include funny clips similar to the title, the Rittenhouse trial, & a small mishap with leftovers.

You Wanna Bring It In? Then Let’s Bring It In
Guess who’s not showing up… This week, it’s the usual right-wingers right-winging it. From Lindsey Graham flip-flopping about January 6th, to a DeSantis ally blocking qualified professionals from testifying against Florida’s voter suppression law, & even Insurrectionist Karens! Plus, we discuss the origin of the cringeworthy “Brandon/Biden” meme. We also discuss the 2021 elections. Glen Youngkin has won the election in Virginia & will be their next Governor. Republicans have held control in the city of Miami. Plus, India Walton’s loss to Byron Brown’s write-in campaign. Later we discuss the JFK Jr. conspiracy & new QAnon nonsense. Other topics include Manchin vs protestors, music reminiscing, a new name for Male Karens, shows we've been watching, & a shoutout to Dead End Hip Hop!

We talk as we take a little tour of our area, engaged in Pokemon Go shenanigans, talking about customers, fountains, & more! Major topics include film censorship, banned books, school currency, plus the deteriorating infrastructure talks, some updates about a certain right-wing state line-crossing killer, the January 6th insurrection, & lots of interesting tangents!

The Traffic Jam Episode
Funneling 3 lanes into 1… This week we’re on the road! Just to dinner, but still. We open up talking about driving & the evolution of navigation. Say Hello to My Other Friend
Hello... SPOILERS AHEAD! We open the episode with a our thoughts on recent MCU stuff, starting with a reaction to “Black Widow”. We also give our thoughts on the first season of “What If…?”, particularly the season finale; plus, a reaction to the “Eternals” trailer. We continue the Sinema saga by talking about her many jobs that are way more important to her than her constituents. She’s not just a Senator; she’s also a marathon runner (or is she?), wine intern, & college professor teaching a class on how to fundraise. Very fitting, huh? There’s a lot going on with the Miami Police Department. Police Chief Art Acevedo was fired despite the popularity of his reforms, due in part to his friction with the police commissioners & Mayor Suarez. Later on, we discuss the autopsy results & recent updates on Gabby Petito & Jelani Day. Other topics include a new Adele album, American partisanship, & a brief COVID update.

The MANCHINEMA Effect
Their favorite color is green… Today, our big topic is Manchinema, the two headed beast composed of Senators “I was always conservative” Manchin & “meetings cost money” Sinema. We talk about their continued opposition to President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda, as well as protests from their constituents regarding this, from the Kayaktivists at Manchin’s house boat to the Sinema’s crass sarcastic responses & her being met by activists at the airport, on a plane, & even in the bathroom. We discuss an event chock full of GOP donors, the type of event where you only see our “best.” A now-former Trump aide spent his night making several unwelcome & possessive advances on Trashelle Odom, the wife of a construction exec & Trump donor. We talk about the “Boy’s Club” culture that mostly condones this behavior, & the weak attempts from Governor Kristi Noem & others at the event to protect Mrs. Odom from this harassment. Later, we talk about the Facebook debacle. The Facebook Network (which includes Instagram & WhatsApp) was shut down just earlier this week. Frances Haugen, a former Facebook employee, has left & become a whistleblower, revealing Facebook’s research into the harms of its own platform & network & how it preys on the mental well-being of it’s users, especially young women & girls, & those susceptible to right-wing & far-right radicalization. Other topics include the retractable pen of the future, a surprisingly on point segment of The View, Super Elsy’s new eco-friendly Rocketbook, & her spicy response to a Boebert tweet.

Tax the Rich (& the Church)
Can you find the poem? Greg Abbott is lost in the sauce. He crumbles while trying to defend his anti-abortion law on TV, & indicates that there are no exceptions to the law. We also react to an article discussing a viable challenge to Abbott for governor in 2022. We talk quite a bit about the infrastructure bill talks, including Sinema meeting with donors to collect checks & orders, & her refusal to raise corporate taxes even a little, & others like her in the House obeying their Big Pharma donors. Plus, Progressive Caucus leader Pramila Jayapal holding strong on the true Democratic agenda even in the face of Pelosi appearing to cave to the corporate-backed “moderates” in the party. Kenneth Copeland & his boys think that traveling ministries needs more private jets to circumvent airlines mandating the COVID vaccine, which they refer to as the “mark of the beast.” What beast, we don’t know, but it sounds more like they just want more donations for private jets. Later, we discuss Marjorie Greene’s gun-toting campaign ad, as well as Joe Manchin being met in his house-yacht by angry West Virginians in boats protesting his loyalty to corporations. Also, Ana Navarro had a fiery exchange with Donald Trump, Jr. Other topics include the movie Up, cramps, the Iron Dome vote, Meghan McCain on “Meet the Press”, memes of the government running out of money, & more.

The First Day of HOTumn
We can already smell the pumpkin spice… We talk a bit about Disney World, & about Walt Disney. We recount experiences, including most recent ones, as well a not-so-starry look at the wonderful world. Weirdness going on in schools. In Newburg, Oregon in particular, we got a school staffer who used blackface in an anti-mask mandate protest, & a deeply racist group chat among students. Ron DeSantis has appointed the surgeon general of his dreams, a yes man. You’ll never guess what he’s saying about masks & vaccines. Plus, emails regarding DeSantis’ voting law have been uncovered, showing more sinister intentions that we totally didn’t see coming a mile away. The Trump bootlicking goes deep. Newsmax host Grant Stinchfield had quite an exchange with a veteran on his show that might surprise you. Also, over the weekend, the right held the “Justice for J6” rally, & we talk about what a mess all of it is. Later on, we discuss the case of Gabby Petito, who was discovered deceased in Wyoming after having been missing for weeks. Other topics include the Pink Panther, pop radio stations, Hood ASMR, & more.

1-800-CRY-NOW
Tissues not provided… So much in this episode! We talk about Super Sentai, & an episode of the current season with a heavy dessert theme, & ride that tangent into learning about some Japanese desserts! Representative AOC is keeping ‘em mad! She called out Joe Manchin’s corruption, leading him to sloppily defend himself on TV. & even got Sarah Palin tryna clout chase, but the congresswoman has a hotline for those mad at her. Later, we discuss the California recall election, Gavin Newsom, & the bizarre rapport between Larry Elder & Rose McGowan. COVID isn’t done with us. We talk about how cases in children have skyrocketed, the nonsensical (but expected) adverse right-wing response to Biden’s newest workplace vaccine protocols, & Nicki Minaj’s tweets gone awry, plus a discussion about celebrities & the reach their words have. Other topics include multi-pronged protest efforts, mainstream rap hitmaking & Verzuz (Fat Joe vs Ja Rule), the Met Gala, a flashback to Cyrex vs the Barbz, MGK vs McGregor, & a couple of Freak Show conspiracy theories.
