Today I talk to Beth Hewitt of Visualise You. Beth defines herself as a spiritual performance coach, using visualization techniques to help people to find their calling and to realize their soul’s purpose. She used to work in the corporate world but didn’t find satisfaction in her 9 to 5 life, and eventually she drew on her past experiences to launch her own business, marrying intuition and spirituality with wisdom from her corporate background. Beth begins by talking about the approach she takes with each of her clients, which is highly individualized and tailored to each of their needs. She explains her visualization process, which has gratitude as a foundation to allow you to appreciate what you have before you open the door to whatever comes next. Next, Beth lays out the pathway that she gives to her clients to help them to achieve their dreams, which can involve quitting your job or making small changes to your life that gradually move you closer to your ultimate vision. We also dive into different techniques around writing a “To Do” list, a tool that can help you to align yourself with your vision. Beth gives a great “To Do” technique which will help you to focus only on the essentials. Listen out as well for Beth’s tips on leaving a corporate job and transitioning into working for yourself, which could really help you if this is part of your vision for your future. On this episode of The Floating Experiment, I interview Maria, a creativity guide and artist. She is the founder of The Philosopher’s Stem, where she draws out the latent creativity and sense of playfulness that we’ve stamped down inside our adult selves. When working with a client, she sets goals or deadlines to hold the person accountable and to give them motivation to pursue their creativity. She also provides positive feedback to highlight the most promising aspects of her clients’ work, to help them overcome their negative inner critic voices. Together, Maria and I discuss the ins and outs of a creative life, from what creativity actually is, to how exercising creativity ties in deeply with our sense of wellbeing. She also outlines what the role of a creativity guide is and how a creativity guide can help you overcome your creative blocks. Maria believes that creativity is a muscle and should be treated as an exercise, where you give yourself permission to warm up and have a few bad attempts before you launch into your main project. We should value these bad attempts as part of the process, rather than beating ourselves up for not being perfect the first time round. Listen out to the end of the episode to discover what Maria’s most recent creative projects are, and her advice on how to make space in your life for your creativity. Please subscribe to the podcast for more interviews with passionate, creative individuals and share this episode with someone you know who’s struggling with a creative roadblock in their life. On today’s episode, I chat with the inspiring Eos, a soulful web designer and business coach. Originally from Switzerland, Eos moved to Menorca with her multicultural family, where she runs her business. Eos brings a purposeful and spiritual edge to website design, helping other businesses to achieve their goals through the means of a beautifully crafted website. Eos and I start out by discussing how a website can be a manifestation tool. Manifestation is becoming more of a mainstream idea, but many people believe that it’s still a little out there. However, Eos defines manifestation as a magnet for the things that you want in your life, whether that’s in your job, your relationship or something else entirely. This magnet begins with trusting yourself to know what’s best for you, and then following your own vision for your life. Eos walked me through her Highest Timeline Exercise, which can help you to develop your vision and to work out what’s important for you in the future, even if that goes against what others want or expect you to do. We also cover Eos’ three layers of the self, which puts self-leadership at the top of the pyramid. Self-leadership is directing yourself to achieve the things you want, by making small choices now that take you in the direction that you want to go. Eos also offers a coaching program to help people position themselves for self-leadership, which you can find out more about on her website.
