With even more clarity, the premature foolishness of your attack on Pelley and uninformed blind support of Bari… albeit she is your friend, has become a deeper stain on your reputations. I was a big fan and supporter of Bari, and I do not watch 60 Minutes or frankly know anything about Pelley… until now. This is a watershed moment for me. If you have any dignity, you should apologize for your behavior, even if you still stand by your position. The way you mocked the man will follow you, and feels as woke or as Trumpian as the far left or far right.

2 stars a year or so cause it was light in facts and deep in snark. Tried it again for a couple episodes and, maybe this is too small a sample, but now it’s just one of a hundred pods that just bashes Trump. I think Trump is a bad president, but these are so predictable and tedious. Christie’s is an example. An excellent former prosecutor, good presidential candidate was bullied by Trump so now, like the little kid who got bullied, is looking to stick it to the bully. When did Christie become such a whiny little B. He attacked trump for some weird shoe thing, claimed his people are all incompetent and only there because of loyalty. Trump has destroyed two branches of government. Nothing positive, nothing balanced, no different from the nit wits calling him Hitler. For example nothing on the real estate misdemeanor raised to a criminal conviction by a democratic prosecutor. In short, I’m no fan of Trump. But these are complex issues that deserve more than one side is pure evil. I wish the show was better.

Love the show, guests and banter. Moynihan clearly loves the sound of his voice and dominates the conversation. He also talks over Kmele too much. Want more Kmele. 2026 update. No longer able to listen. They are not libertarians but mouthpieces for the Dems. Nothing Trump or his administration does is ok. C’mon. That’s impossible.

After a bit, it becomes obvious how performative the “free-flowing” conversation and hacky sarcastic rapport is. Smug manipulation as comfort podcasting.

Found these guys a few years ago and have followed even through cycles of dumping all the other podcasts. Fresh thoughtful and balanced take on issues in today’s news. These guys call out BS wherever it arises (and it seems to arise everywhere).

So Virginia Giuffre is a fabulist, but is trustworthy when she exonerates Trump? And if Trump isn’t implicated in the files why did he stonewall for so long? Surely that’s a question any honestly journalists would ask.

They couldn’t bring themselves to vote against Donald Trump. All their handwringing and anger is just noise.

A bunch of people with verbal diarrhea talking over each other - never uttering an original thought. I can’t believe how many people are suckered in by this b.s. think it’s serious or interesting. Also - they’re Megyn Kelly fans!!! Hahaha - puke.

Ignore the angry 1-2 star reviews. This is one of the most honest, balanced podcasts around. Solid stuff. Brilliant and funny. Non-partisan. Human. Nuanced.

Imagine what they’d be saying about someone who said the things Megyn says if she didn’t lend them her vastly larger platform.

Can always be counted on to hold everybody to the highest standard, as long as it’s not a kooky podcaster they might be able to forge a cross-promotional relationship with. In that case, anything goes!

Not very anti-war for a predominantly libertarian podcast. Moynihan is clearly a neocon wannabe and just incredibly arrogant. Just accuses people he disagrees with as idiots. Their only position on Israel is being pro-Israel which is totally insane. I feel like this is a dumb person’s smart people podcast. They say things that sound smart, but at the core are intellectually bereft. Most of the hosts are also too drunk most of the time making it almost unlistenable. Calling Betty Ford!!!!

This was one of my favorite podcast for a long time. I’m so sad to say that’s no longer true. Matt and Moynihan specifically seem to be unable to get past their deep personal biases and give people a fair assessment. Don’t worry though they will keep assuring you that they are the real journalists. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to let this one go. Time is too precious.

Used to love the podcast for its unique takes. Gave it a 5 star review years ago. Now it seems like all they do is malign people they disagree with. I’ve begun to suspect that Moynihan is incapable of looking at things from any perspective but his own. During Trump’s first term Matt would get raging drunk nearly every episode and devolve into angry screaming. At the time I thought that was rock bottom for them, now I realize they’re just going to keep digging deeper. Kmele’s not around very often but it makes no difference because his takes are so predictable.

This podcast, like others in the “heterodox” vein, was interesting about five years ago but is now WAY past its expiration date. With the cast from the Free Press and various other edgelords and crypto-neoconservatives making guest appearances, it’s obvious where this project has landed: in the Annoying/Irrelevant bin. They’re still amusing and articulate, though, so it’s good for a rewarding hate-listen now and then. Is Moynihan still aggravated by purple-haired they/them Chomskyites on college campuses? Why, yes he is. And he will rant as enjoyably as Alex Jones about it.

I am a white, educated, Christian woman with conservative tendencies who lives in the great state of Oregon. I am a truth-seeker and this podcast has done so much to grow my understanding of world events, politics, and history. I was introduced to you by David French, who probably shares all of my moments of cringe, but we love you all nonetheless. Because of you, I have become a regular listener to Bari Weiss and the Free Press, and maybe someday I can check out Megan Kelly (yes, folks, I am a Never -Trumper so I approach anyone who has touched him with the utmost caution). Thank you that despite being crass, silly, and occasionally openly vulgar, you have helped me understand things from the libertarian-esque perspective and why despite me having deep compassion for our hurting world, the progressives have never convinced me that their way is good.

Matt Welch and Moynihan are tough to listen to. They constantly pontificate. And most likely with information that isn’t anywhere near factual. For example Welch claims RFK is responsible for the recent measles outbreak. The outbreak occurred in a menanite community and they don’t believe in vaccinations. Not sure how someone in a job 3 months can be responsible for anything. Welch is the weak link on this podcast and spews un factual information constantly cause he isn’t intelligent enough to hang with Kmele.

I want desperately to love this podcast so much. I agree with these guys 100% of the time; but oh dear, can Michael Moynihan please stop bloviating and let Matt and Kmele get a word in edgewise?!?

The sound quality is absolutely horrible. Sounds like one guy is swallowing the mic while another is ten feet away from his. Pull that together and I’ll be back. Thanks.

This show has been a staple for the last couple years. It’s wild to see a pretty logical person like Moynihan get so afflicted with TDS. He just can’t see the actions from the person anymore. The other two hosts are still solid as can be and call balls and strikes. Trump does some crazy stuff but flying off the handle at every little thing is too much.

I couldn’t even finish one episode. The way you treated Batya was despicable. Shame on you.

Batya Ungar-Sargon seems like one of the kindest, most caring human beings on the planet… innately lovable. Agree or disagree, she has a right to her opinion - and she does take the time to at least explain where she’s coming from. She’s not an idiot as some on here would suggest. I love hearing multiple sides of an issue, and I loved the heated debate… The only thing I didn’t love was when Michael told her (and Kmele) to ‘shut the F up’… I thought that crossed the line from heated debate to disrespectful. I would’ve appreciated an apology from Micheal on that specific disrespect. -Love Kmele’s laugh -Appreciate Michael’s knowledge, thought process… And endearing arrogance -Matt seems like your best friend‘s dad growing up… A good guy

If what you are looking for is simply a regurgitation of the conventional media take on any subject, but desire it delivered with a patina of smug condescension, absence of any nuance and prejudgment of an argument based on the identity of who is making it, then this podcast is for you. Moynihan, surprisingly, the main offender lately.

I’m always in the mood to hear these guys banter. Whether it be about current politics, love of culture, or their personal life, they have me in hysterics. Moynihan is hilarious, Kmele is the innocent protege, and Welsh brings his knowledge and wit into these drunken rabbit holes, that I enjoy. Don’t take it all overly seriously, although they are intellectually entertaining, love you three and keep the recommendations coming! Loveyoumeanit boys 🥰

I don’t always agree with them, but their scruples are always intact. In today’s media landscape that’s far far too hard to come by! As a “raging moderate” they are 1 of the top 5 opinions I seek out regularly.

It would be a decent show without Moynihan. He rambles and mumbles with run on sentences so much you lose track of what the guy’s point is. Learn to be concise and use periods!

I can’t see why people pay for this content. They appear to have little or no preparation. Sure, it is funny at times, and I do like Kmele is a deep thinker, but there is very little quality in most episodes despite the length of one hour or more. Michael and Matt represent the old view on too many subjects and unfortunately are out of touch with anyone who is not an NYC, big city, materialist type.

Funny, smart guys making each other laugh while talking politics. What’s not to love?

Amazing show! I love the insight and think I’m indeed a libertarian! I had to cringe however when you suggested insurance companies should have a bigger hand in health care. Yes doctors make money, but those in contract with insurance companies have no say in what they charge for services and if a patient’s insurance won’t pay, the doctor cannot provide the service for cash. State services barely pay for the lights and staff. I could go on. I just suggest more digging on this one. It’s practically impossible to privately own a practice now, because insurance companies have so much control.

Self satisfied, smug and supercilious hosts and guests are constantly condescending and fast aspersions on others who are actually doing something productive. I guess you have to live in Manhattan or their definition of the right neighborhoods of Brooklyn to appreciate this self serving smarm.

Seriously, Welch needs to bow out of the podcasting world. Smart guy, good writer, but a terrible speaker. Makes this and Reason Roundtable almost impossible to listen to. They could tighten up the format and talk more policy. They spend a lot of time pretending Moynahan is funny and pretending Foster wants to be on the show. Time to rethink gentlemen. We'll need you over the next four years, so get your show in order.
