Antifeminist?
Initially I liked how both spouses participated about equally in the podcast. However, after a few episodes, I was shocked to hear Selena bash feminists. I wondered how a woman can possibly be anti-feminist! But I can’t blame her. Selena’s view is unfortunately a perpetuation of the long-held, long-preached MANmade “Christian” ideas that women are inferior. These ideas are so strong in our culture that even women may believe them! The book “The Making of Biblical Womanhood” by Beth Allison Barr explains in much more depth. I feel bad for only giving 2 stars, because I did actually like a lot of the initial content I heard, but I couldn’t get Selena’s comment out of my head and eventually could no longer bring myself to listen, particularly when I saw that an episode topic was about a husband getting jealous when his wife wore yoga pants to the gym. The mere possibility that the husband’s view might be validated and the wife’s might even be vilified was too big a turnoff. Maybe they ended up saying the husband was in the wrong—I hope that’s the case! But as I said, I couldn’t bring myself to listen, already hearing plenty of anti-feminist (i.e. anti female) content in my daily life as a woman.

Lost me with the latest episode
There’s nothing wrong with being a Christian couple and not wanting children. Children ARE a precious gift but that doesn’t mean every couple is meant and required to have them? And if you don’t have them you are some how disobedient? If you are a believer and you are in tune with God and filled with His Spirit then God will place that desire on your heart. I know many couples both in and out of ministry who do not have that desire right now. It’s not selfish it’s just not what they’ve been called to do. It’s okay to take “be fruitful and multiple” to the 10th degree for your own life but to standardize YOUR interpretation of the Word and make these blanket statements is a bit irresponsible. I can imagine this episode was especially hard for couples who can’t conceive. I love my child and we do want more so it’s not even that this even applied to me. Just please do a better job of differentiating between your personal interpretations and the text. As soon as they started citing articles as additional authority to beef up the argument that’s when I stopped tuning in. Go into this podcast knowing the Word for yourself so you can discern personal opinion from Biblical authority.

Great Christian marriage content
Love listening to these guys, their perspective on Christian marriage and issues not normally talked about but issues common to most marriages.

In laws
Their episode on dealing with boundaries with in-laws is sooo helpful. How refreshing to find a podcast that dives right into the topic instead of spending the first 15 min talking gibberish. As someone who was emotionally charged (upset) at the time I put this podcast on I can say I found peace in the way they conveyed the conflict resolution strategies. Their examples were clear and to the point. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Betrayed spouses
If you are a betrayed spouse do not get your advice from them. I just listened to them heap shame on a woman’s shoulders that did not deserve it. Heartbroken for her and hope she finds solid healing advice elsewhere.

Edifying & Encouraging
Absolutely my go-to marriage podcast. With all the voices out there casting doubt and division on marriage and spouses, listening to this podcast helps me keep my focus and perspective on marriage and my husband a Christ-centered one. My husband started listening too, after I did and our interactions and perspectives have changed for the better. So thankful for the time and effort put in to putting this out for the world!

Awesome Podcast!
I am so glad to have found this podcast on Facebook. Both of you are an encouragement to my marriage as we work through communication in our marriage of 15 years, and realize that we have differences we didn’t even know about. I love that you guys laugh together, and I love the baby noises in the background…. Children are so important to us as a family with 5 littles ages 12-2. I love that family is so important and that God is glorified in the good, the bad, and the ugly! Keep up the good work for Christ! ❤️

Second marriages
I am new here. I am in my second marriage after my first husband of 26 years passed away. I have been married to my second husband for 9 years. Second marriages are way harder than firsts. But they are still so worth fighting for. We are both Catholic. I have enjoyed your podcast. It has made me stop and think and pray many a time. It has encouraged me to dig deep and not give up on our Sacrament, our marriage. So the content is relevant even for those of us who are older. God bless you two.

Love this podcast with Ryan & Selena
Started listening yesterday and now have listened to about 5 podcasts so far. I know I will look forward to listening to them with my fiancé. We are getting married next month and so far the insights have been great. Love our Jesus and like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you Jesus for directing me to these podcast I’ve never been patient enough to listen to these but with my growth with God and my soon to be marriage I know that God directed because I needed to hear a lot of these discussions. Thank you both as well for allowing God to lead you to this ministry. Such a blessing.

Rekindled so much!
Selena and Ryan are so genuine and truly assisted in making me not only enjoy podcasts in general, but find myself being a more intentional Christian wife. I appreciate how much they have helped both my husband and I be more intentional with each other and with our faith overall! We appreciate how you have helped us rekindle some of our missing spark and overcome some obstacles we didn’t even realize we were facing. God is good and your words have brought out more prayer in my life and our marriage.

The Most Helpful Marriage Tool Ever
My husband and I have been married for just about a year now and we were engaged for 9 months before that. I found this podcast and started listening to it early in our engagement to prepare myself for marriage. We did premarital counseling as well and loved it, but nothing has helped prepare my heart and mind for marriage more than this podcast! I understand Biblical marriage, our relationship, my role as a wife, and honestly God’s heart so much deeper and better because of this podcast. Thank you guys so, so much for all the hard work! I can’t express just how much this podcast has helped. (And I’m not even caught up yet, I started all the way at the beginning and am working my way forward). Next step, Fierce Parenting haha!

I used to love this podcast
I have never done a review for a podcast but I feel like this is important. I used to love this podcast but when I heard the episode "intimacy without obligation," I was disgusted. The message they are trying to portray is not only damaging to those that were raised with the belief that women are there to "service" their spouse, but also to someone like me, who was sexually assaulted when I was a teen. They are taking scripture and twisting it. To put out a blanket statement like that is super gross. I get that they can put out whatever they want but I have the choice to not listen and I pray this message doesn't do damage for others.

Intimacy without obligation episode
I have enjoyed other episodes although I personally found this episode disturbing. Speaking about how the Bible says to not deprive your spouse. My interpretation was have sex even when you don’t want to or feel like it. I guess this works for you guys…having to ask your wife “is this okay” and her response is ya just doing it to keep you happy is gross to me. Every relationship is different but not how my marriage is. Especially as someone who has experienced sexual assault I don’t advise the open ended advice given in this episode. I feel strongly that no women should feel forced into sex with anyone especially her husband just because of a verse in the Bible. It seems damaging to a relationship in my opinion. Just wanted to share my thoughts on this episode in particular.

Gospel-centered, practical help
Love this fun, funny, very Bible-based podcast. So practical and helpful as they are vulnerable and speak from wisdom and experience. Also love that simply knowing Jesus is the core of their mission and they invite listeners every time into that relationship. Thank you for this tool that you’ve put into our hands!

Thank you
Thank You for your guidance and perspective on how to be connected after having a new baby. This episode literally gave me everything I didn’t know or have. My understanding has been enhanced and I’m so appreciative for this. GOD bless you two.

Mostly good!!
I really like listening to this podcast! Most of the time, their topics and conversations are great to listen to and give me good material to think about. However, I don’t really care for Ryan’s tendency to talk over Selena. He presents as fairly condescending sometimes and while I’m sure it’s not intentional, it’s off-putting. I would absolutely love to hear more from Selena. How she maintains biblical wife and motherhood, with growing family and growing responsibilities with ministry, and likely other personal developments!

Let Selena Talk!
I really want to love this podcast and I love the messaging most of the time. What I have a hard time getting past is the fact that Ryan constantly talks over Selena. Most of your listeners are probably women, and I for one enjoy her point of view, but I can’t ever hear the entire thought because Ryan constantly steamrolls her. Not sure I want marriage advice from a man who doesn’t respect his wife enough to let her speak.

Exhausted Wife
I have been married for 23 years. My husband is a leader in our community, church etc. I have lifted him up , covered his messes and continue to get screamed at like I’m a child. He hollers if I balance checkbook pay bills etc so I stop so he won’t feel like I’m CONTROLLING him yet he will do it for a week then ‘ think ‘ he took care of everything and our disconnect bill comes, car doesn’t get paid , I go to get gas and my card is declined because there’s no money in the bank and I have to borrow money from my kids for gas to make it home. So I get screamed at again because somehow I’m telling him what to do by asking him why there’s no money.. and he keeps saying I’m gonna change but as long as everyone else thinks he’s great he doesn’t give one single rip about what his wife or kids think about him. I’ve tried everything to make the man happy and act happy when I’m dying inside . I cannot even have an adult conversation where I’m aloud to have an opinion that defers from his . So yeah I’m exhausted and you can tell me some more how I can keep hoping for an eternal reward when I won’t even make it to heaven

Becoming Fierce
My husband and I started listening to Ryan and Selena a couple years ago when we were on the brink of divorce, after suffering multiple traumas within six months of each other. By Gods grace we have fought for one another, found ourselves an awesome church and my husband accepted Christ into his heart as his personal savior. Which, led me back to God, repentance, and desire to live life renewed in Him. I listen to all the “Frederick fierces” on my way to and from work. It helps me stay focused and motivated in my relationship with God, husband and family. Thank you Ryan and Selena for what you do!

Thank you guys for being faithful in your walks of like. Your walk with the Lord. Your walk with each other. Your walk with your kids. And also your walk with us. Saving Grace
My husband and I were having a hard time as newlyweds and we didn’t know exactly where to turn. He is an owner/operator truck driver and I assist him. We kept praying, thought about counseling, seek guidance from our Christain friends, was in the word and trying to find a church. All that was great but didn’t feel like it was helping at least in the short term. After looking for Christian marriage podcast we found this one and it has opened our eyes, hearts and minds like we both couldn’t even imagine. We listen to about 5-10 shows a week. It’s made us really understand marriage like no other. Ryan and Selena are so wonderful and relatable. My husband feels like he thinks and acts similar to Ryan and I to Selena. We look forward to learning and growing everyday from these shows. Sometimes the truth stings but it’s always what we need. We have both became better spouses because of the discipleship of the Fredericks. You could really see God working in all this and it’s so amazing!!! God bless and thank you sooooo much Fredericks for changing our marriage and lives through Jesus!!!! We love you!!!

Not easy listening.
It’s hard to listen for any length of time. Takes too long to get to the point. Lots of rambling.
