After 100+- episodes I just couldn’t listen anymore. His tone and delivery sounds so scripted and mundane. His push for patreon for 2 minutes on every episodes was too much and desperate.

Very interesting/entertaining! I was very young when the 80’s ended, so this podcast is teaching me some things I never knew. Also, I love when Jamie says “Don’t you dare miss it!” ❤️

I’m a GenXer and all of these casts help me remember things I may have forgotten. Loads of fun. Jamie is a great host and speaker. So happy I found this cast.

This is the first podcast review I’ve ever written, but I can’t stop binging this show. I imagine this series is to children of the 80s what Jean Shepard (A Christmas Story) felt like to kids of the 40s and 50s.

I was born in 1984 and I am a huge fan of nostalgia. This podcast hits all of the feels - touching on toys, television, movies, and other subjects that bring the listener right back into the 80’s. Awesome content. Five stars.

This is a great 80's nostalgia podcast! The subjects are really on point and well researched! But...the host has a habit of making swallowing sounds (almost a clicking of his larynx) into the mic as he talks. Not sure if he has Dysphagia but it really is annoying and wish he would just turn away from the microphone when doing this particular act. The subjects he choses are so on point I really wish that he would do longer form podcasts on the subjects (example: the fall of Kodak, the Muppet Show, was there a real life Indiana Jones). 30 minutes or so is just too quick for some of these subjects!! But 5 stars.

I just started listening because my sister told me about it and now I’m totally hooked!! His voice is so soothing too. I love how well he explains everything, there’s so many things I didn’t know.

I really enjoy this podcast. It’s very educational (even for topics that I thought I knew a lot about) while still keeping your attention. I really appreciate that the host gets right to the point, and there isn’t a lot of filler. I have trouble dealing with a lot of the “banter” on other shows. This podcast is such a refreshing difference, and very well made.

Much better than any of the others out there. No woke nonsense only neutral politics. Thank you. Just well researched history unlike the rest. Wish there were more episodes.

As a Gen Xer this podcast covers all the awesome things about being a kid in the 80’s! Jamie has a great voice and delivery and a clear knowledge and fondness for these topics.

I was but a wee kid in the 80s (born in ‘82). But I was a part of, and remember, so much of this. I get nostalgic as I learn new facts about stuff I remember, or discover stuff about the 80s I didn’t know. Great material and delivery, Jamie. That said, the last handful of episodes I have listened to have been hard get through due to the recording/mix. It sounds like there is a really heavy gate on the mic resulting in the first sound of each sentence being slightly cut off, especially “P” and “B” consonants, and a slight pop when sound does come in. If you start a sentence with “But”, it sounds like “[popping sound]Ut…” I understand gates are useful and sometimes necessary to dry up the recording and cut out breathing and other extra noise. But it seems excessive to the point of distracting. Maybe it’s the platform on which I’m listening? But it’s in the uploading? I’m not a podcaster so I don’t know, but I am a musician and recording artist, so I can hear it. I won’t stop listening, it would just be nice if this gets better. Thank you.

This is the only written review I’ve done for a podcast and I listen to a bunch. I only discovered it a couple weeks ago and I’ve never binged podcast episodes like I have with this. I’m in my mid 40’s and it’s like he’s hit every nostalgic spot in my brain. Topics are great, length is perfect and you can hear the enthusiasm he has on every show. You better keep this going now that I’ve burned through half the episodes in no time! *If you need a show idea, how about an episode breaking down the fan theory that Ferris bueller never existed and the movie was all in Cameron’s head. It makes sense when you watch it but would like your expert 80’s analysis*

Jamie does an excellent job detailing the cultural aspects that helped define one of America's most transformative decades, the 1980s. A nostalgic way to get a blast from the past for the older crowd. Even for younger people who weren’t around or don't remember the 80s, this podcast is great for learning about what made the decade so great and its role in leading us to where we are today in many different areas.
