Kate Yeo, also known as @byobottlesg on Instagram, is an 18-year-old student and climate activist based in Singapore. In 2018, she began a campaign to encourage people to bring their own bottles instead of using plastic cups and has since been involved with spearheading several other initiatives. Through running her activism account, speaking at conferences, and leading environmental campaigns, she hopes to make climate action more accessible to everyone.
In this episode, we discuss the intersection between climate and social justice, the process of launching a youth-driven environmental campaign, common misconceptions when it comes to environmentalism, and digital activism during a global pandemic.
