Thank you Michelle!
Michelle gets this work and I am grateful for this podcast. Being a BIPOC fundraiser is challenging and this podcast helps ground me. It’s a reminder that I am not alone in the ways that I navigate the work; it’s often a lonely place. Thanks for gifting us your time and talents, Michelle.

Excellent!
I’m totally relating to this as it relates to my work in fundraising for our relatively young PTA in an integrating Title 1 school in the heart of the Silicon Valley. I’m finding this very validating for how we’re doing the work we’re doing and also a cautionary guide as we develop our scrappy non-profit. Thank you so much for creating this space and content for critical thinking and dialogue and intentional actions towards doing the right thing even when it seems hard or to be going against the grain.

A fresh and needed perspective on building an equitable world
Love love love. Thank you for sharing this much needed view on building power in reciprocal and grounded ways. Such important views to relearn.

An Absolute Must
This podcast, as a whole, resonates with me on many levels. Professionally, I’m captivated by the thought provoking nature of the content. Personally, I’m driven to better advocate and ally for others and myself. The show notes are a must, but be prepared to block your schedule and go down a rabbit hole of knowledge.

Required Listening!!!
This podcast is absolutely non profit fundraisers. As a white woman just beginning to understand how I am complicit in systems of white privilege and institutional racism, this is invaluable information as I work to be actively anti racist in the workplace.

Values and Practice
This is the Podcast I have been looking for. I’ve been in nonprofit work for over 20 years but I am new to development as my primary role. I have been uncomfortable for the two years I’ve been at my current nonprofit job and this podcast is articulating and naming why. So many (white-led) nonprofits value social and ecological justice but have not yet come to the understanding why we can’t ethically move toward those values without looking at how the money flows. Because, of course, capitalism, funding, white saviorism, colonialism, etc., are all antithetical to the value of social justice, but yet so much of the latter is baked into the structure of the nonprofit industrial complex. I’m super grateful to CCF and Michelle Shireen Muri for leading this important movement. Thank you!

Thought-Provoking, Relevant, Refreshing
Thrilled that this podcast serves as a platform for fundraisers of color and will critically examine the often unquestioned practices of nonprofits and philanthropy.
