In this episode we have the provocative, inspiring researcher John Hattie. This is the first of two sessions I will be releasing over the next few weeks with some beautifully worded top tip takeaways as you can imagine. John Hattie has undertaken and is one of the key leads in researching education over the past many years with studies of around a quarter of a billion students the data and results are linked to schools and learners on a global scale! We delve deep into what the research says as well as asking John to clarify many questions that people ask about his research. His amazing, relatable responses really provoked my thinking and get in contact to have your say about what provoked your thinking!!! Educators as Change Agents (3mins) What is Agency? In this episode we have an amazing group of people training to be teachers!! They were with us at Stonefields School on their first practicum and it has been so great to get their reflections on the ups and downs of their journey so far! This session is very relatable to those at the start of their teaching career but also for those who are long timers in the teaching profession who may want to hear about those starting off. It was also great to hear their reflections about how mentors can support and guide the journey as well. I hope you enjoy!!

In this episode we have the amazing Rose Hipkins who is a Chief Researcher for Education in New Zealand Rose is just a wealth of knowledge and she has been working with us on what is critical to know and learn for the future. She has authored some really great reads such as âWeaving a Coherent Curriculumââ which I have added a link to on the website along with other readings and some of my takeaways to give you an overview. In this session we empathise with the struggles of living in a world where the future of education is unknown and most importantly get excited about what possibilities this is opening up! Â In the beginning we mention data and just wanted to clarify the terms as it is really important I feel for parents and teachers to know about. We talk about quantitative data which a lot of us know about and it is easily counted for example testing and statistics. And qualitative data which is not so easy to measure it is things like student voice and expression. Enjoy!

In this episode we have our Part two with Henry Burgess who is an Autistic person and continues to share his struggles and triumphs of his life journey so far! Henry speaks about what he remembers about school and what worked for him as well as what didnât. He recalls different points in his life so far that has helped him learn about himself as well as sharing some tips about what he wishes people would know about him. The main message that I have taken away from this episode is for us to understand and not judge. Attempt to read more, research, speak to others and continue to learn about people on an individual level so we can empower ourselves to empower themselves.
