in Episode 10, before returning to our 1 Timothy series, we take a look at the Old Testament Law (Torah) in its original understanding and Ancient Near Eastern context, clearing up some prevailing modern misconceptions. This episode is based on the recently released excursus #3 from "Neither Circumcised Nor Uncircumcized"

This week, we very excitedly head into the second chapter of 1 Timothy.

Continuing in 1 Timothy 1, in our third episode we go through verses 12-20. In this section, we read Paul going into what we call one of his "spontaneous doxologies," which are never disappointing, and ending with a pretty enlightening clue to who these false teachers are, something we will get into later in the epistle.

In the second episode of our 1 Timothy series, we begin to get into the body of the letter and walk through verses four to eleven. Paul gets right into it and so do we. Focusing on unveiling the original Greek as our main goal we'll begin the process of figuring out who and what Paul is talking about.

Introducing our verse-by-verse series going through 1 Timothy, in Episode 003 we take an overview of the background of Paul's first letter of "the Pastoral Epistles" before we jump right into the material as the apostle does.

Following our previous episode, we are tackling the great questions of what the Gospel really is, and what the whole point of our response to it is. What is the true essence of the Gospel and what should it's effects look like to a believer? While this is such a dense topic, we seek to answer some fundamental questions.

Before we dive into the Book of Timothy, we take some time to explore the real, overarching issues behind Sin and The Fall.

What is 'faith?' Is it belief? Faithfulness? And what's up with works? Are we saved by faith, or works-- do Paul and James contradict each other? I mean c'mon, what's going on here? In this episode we tackle the definition of faith, it's origin in concept, and review seemingly contradicting views of faith by Paul in Romans 1-4 and James in James 2, as well as visiting other areas of the New Testament.
