Dyad: 'Two individuals or units regarded as a pair. (noun) The mother- daughter dyad." Growing up I thought a family looked like the traditional nuclear family- mum, dad & kids but I was wrong. This is our version of family: At the end of 2019, I found myself pregnant for the first time and heading into parenthood on my own. I never expected to go into 2020 doing pregnancy, an unexpected complicated labour and the fourth trimester all during a global pandemic. This is my journey into solo parenthood, sharing the stories around pregnancy, labour and motherhood we all try to hide!

WE'RE BACK! Episode 10- learning what fatherhood is all about
6 months ago I had the pleasure of interviewing two of my friends who are Dads of sons. As a single mum, I wanted to get an insight into modern day fatherhood. I wanted to get into the minds of what it is really like being a dad for the 1st time. We had an open and honest conversation about how they prepared to take on the greatest challenge of their lives, the pressure of the working-family balance life and reflecting on are they the dads they thought they be? Definitely worth the listen.

Episode 9- you give birth and then what? My experience of fourth trimester
I created this podcast and said to myself I'd be brutally honest. I wouldn't give into peer pressure of the acting like the 'perfect mum' and hide how things really are for me. In this episode I look back at the 1st 3 months of motherhood otherwise known as the fourth trimester.

Ep 4. What was it like to give birth during a global pandemic?
I spoke to three other women who gave birth in 2020 during the pandemic. We discussed how things didn't go to plan, what it was like to go through stages of labour without their partners & how the after care effected them. With 2 of them being first time mums, was it what they expected? How different having a second child in a pandemic was to the first? I was surprised but how many of them faced induction and in awe of their bravery with it all. Listen to Ness, Amie and Beremy on all things labour...
