Masculinity (also called manhood or manliness) is a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles associated with boys and men. As a social construct, it is distinct from the definition of the male biological sex. Standards of manliness or masculinity vary across different cultures and historical periods. Both males and females can exhibit masculine traits and behavior.
Billy Porter broke the internet by wearing a tuxedo gown to the 2019 Oscar Awards. The avänt'gärd look was hailed phenomenal by many but chastised by those who felt the ensemble further put black men in an emasculated light. Further, there were arguments claiming his appearance -and those who supported it- added to the reasons why the black community cannot move further ahead.
The argument about masculinity and what is accepted can last for days; but DNA the Voice and myself will try to tackle the subject in 90 minutes. Wish us luck.

There is a saying "No Glove, No Love" but how many actually hold fast to that mantra. People love sex; some more than others and in the heat of the moment decisions are made that can place one at-risk for exposure to HIV. In addition, there are sero-discordant couples (one living with HIV, one HIV negative) that would love to engage in risk-free condomless sex.
Truvada for PrEP provides 92%-99% reduction in HIV risk for HIV-negative individuals who take the pills every day as directed. If a daily dose is missed, the level of HIV protection may decrease. It only works if you take it. People who use PrEP correctly and consistently have higher levels of protection against HIV.
Yep..it's true, there is a pill that will eliminate your chances of contracting HIV!
Listen in and learn more about this groundbreaking HIV prevention tool.

In the early 80's HIV was introduced to the masses and to-date more than 70 million people have been infected and about 35 million people have died. Yet, the amount of ignorance, stigma, and shame related to infection is ever present. Many have no idea how the virus is transmitted and some still view it as a 'gay disease'. Those living with HIV fear being outed and will even avoid getting into care. It is time for a change. It is time for heightened awareness. Let's talk.

What methods should be used to discipline a child? I’m from the ‘go get the belt era’ but they’re saying that’s a form of child abuse. I also heard the certain non-physical punishments are cruel and mentally damaging. So, what’s best: a conversation at the dinner table while sharing a latte? I’m asking because I am seeing a lot of unruly, disrespectful, bad a** children go unscathed.
Listen in or join the dialogue about spanking. Is it a necessary component of child rearing? This will be a fiery discussion with both sides weighing in.

Many people walk around wearing a mask. Fearful of being judged, ostracized, or alienated if the essence of who they really are is discovered. This is especially true for LGBT persons. The traumas associated with living inauthentic are many and can hinder ones ability to live positive.
Special guest Margena Carter is going to provide useful tools and tips on how to overcome those fears and walk in the God given fullness of who you are.

Many people go through life lying to impress. Lying to stay relevant. Lying to fit in. Yet, oftentimes, the liar feels trapped in their made up world, unable to find a way of escape; longing to share their truth with those who deserve to know.
Join Dontá and Kwame Corbett (Co-host of Blaze Entertainment Podcast) as they discuss the challenges associated with trying to keep up the facade. It will be an enlightening exchange that will hopefully encourage someone to step out from behind the veil and be themselves.
