Great show with lots of variety
Have been listening to this podcast for years now. The storytelling and writing are fantastic and engaging and the topics while centered in horror and true crime are varied which makes each episode unique and interesting. Definitely recommend if you’re in the market for a new show.

English Majors!
I love this podcast! I especially like how Branden incorporates poetry into the stories. As an English major and a true poetry nerd, I can appreciate how he blends poetry into the dark and spooky tales. You will never read Robert Frost the same way again after listening to this pod. Looking forward to more!

Cool true crime podcast
I was born eight months after the events that started this podcast, so learning about it this way is interesting! However, I do not believe in the devil or demons!

Brandon Morgan a voice like Butter…
Brandon Morgan is arguably the most articulate of the popular Podcast host. A master storyteller whose voice is simultaneously melodic and haunting. Morgan delivers intelligent prose. One of my favorite podcast.

Tired of other podcast plugs
This show was decent. Some seasons were better than others but the storytelling was fairly atmospheric and fun. However, this show would push a “Bonus episode” titled “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” to my feed frequently. It started to feel like spam and I got really tired of it. That was enough of a reason for me to unsubscribe.

What is real and what is speculation
I have listened to the story of TS and while great and interesting storytelling, I would prefer just the facts. I have had a hard time telling the difference between speculation and actual facts in this podcast. The night of the murder and what TS was feeling, thinking, and doing, is pure speculation and the way it is presented, feels real. Again, good storytelling, but likely grossly misleading and not what I am looking for regarding research into a case. It’s okay in the end not to know what really happened in this gruesome crime. Presenting what you think as fact is likely missing where the truth is. Interviewing some psychologists and having them opine as well could present a more balanced view. Probably not what you are going for, but how presented is not a podcast I am interested in following.

happy to have discovered this podcast
been binging my way through it. very interesting stories and would love to give it 5 stars but i got to more recent episodes with ads being run with Kristi Noem cheerleading for the Clown In Chief and enlisting in ICE. definitely a bummer. don’t wanna stop listening for political reasons but it’s pretty disappointing.

Phenomenal
I’ve been listening on and off for years. I’m currently binging again. I love the interweaving stories and literature that I normally wouldn’t be interested in. He somehow worked in Dante’s Inferno with Richard Ramirez. I hated Dante when I had to read it in college but somehow Branden kept me interested. I don’t understand the low ratings at all. His story telling is meant to make you think - for me anyway. And obviously he has to have ads. Any other podcast I listen to has the same ads too. It’s not really a deciding factor on if I’ll listen or not..

Great story telling with some some insightful poems mixed through.
Branden is one of the very few voices I can actually listen to on my podcast list. Most podcast voices—especially in true crime—tend to drive me nuts (no offense), but Branden? He’s got the perfect radio voice. He weaves together true crime, eerie religious paranormal stories, and even poetry in a way that somehow just works—and I’m not even a poem person, haha…and the background music? Perfectly chosen. It adds character to the stories. It’s rare to find a podcast that balances creepy, insightful, and deeply human storytelling, I’m officially a fan.

Fiction?
I am on season one and, while the show is easy to listen to and interesting, it is impossible to tell what is true and what is fiction. It is presented as true crime but much of it seems to be speculation or horror fiction. Sources are not given and everything is presented as fact when it obviously is not. The podcaster should call it horror found footage and make clear it is highly fictionalized but “based on true events.” Additionally, the podcaster does not understand the Abrahamic religions and is very simplistic.

Devils greatest trick
People don’t believe , I think TS was completely possessed and think the documentary film would have been so much better had the cross castle and Clinton rd exploits even if it was just Timor had been included .

Excellent podcast!
My husband and I love listening to Brandon’s podcasts. He is a great writer and his delivery is laid back and fun to listen to compared to most true crime podcasts. The way he masterfully weaves in different perspectives, poetry and jokes, especially in the multi-episode seasons, makes it so much more interesting. I could live without the cryptid episodes but he even makes those worth listening to more than most podcasts on the subject. Keep up the great job Brandon! We’re big fans!

STOP DROPPING THE VOICE OF A KILLER INTO MY FEED!
Enough with Ides of April! If I wanted to subscribe to that show I would have. I have no interest in listening to the voice of a killer, which is what Baldwin is. He killed a mother and she did not get the justice she deserved. I do not need you to remind me of that week after week. One episode, as a promotion, I can understand, but week after week after week? The same for all the other shows you push on me. No Oprah. No Colbert. No more repulsive people, or I will unsubscribe from all EVIO channels!

North Jersey chills, ’80s vibes, and storytelling at its best
The first season is fantastic! As a fellow North Jersian who grew up just 15 minutes away, I found the episodes captivating. I remember hearing about this case on the news during the Satanic Panic in the 80’s and Branden captures that moment in time—especially here in Morris County, New Jersey—perfectly. The ’80s references pulled me right back as if I were living it again. His music sets the mood instantly—creepy in the best way. I get a visceral reaction just like I get from the Halloween movie theme. I love that each season is different and that he weaves in historical context. Some reviews mention volume issues with ads, but I’ve never had a problem—it sounds like a platform issue, not his. And if interviews aren’t your thing, just skip them; no need for a bad review over that. Branden delivers great content with an easy-to-listen-to voice, plus the background music and effects really add to the atmosphere. I highly recommend this podcast and share it with everyone I know.

Bad editing, fluff, and old tropes from 80s Satanic Panic (and not in a fun way)…
I tried to get through the first season, as it is such an interesting story and if it had been thoroughly researched and told from a journalistic perspective it could have been awesome. It was so badly edited and full of nonsense adlib garbage the narrator just made up and attributed to Tommy. It plays up the satanic panic tropes of the 80s as if they are true and there was actually some sort of mass “devil worshiping” happening in NJ. It could have been super cool to interweave lore within a well thought out narrative, in a succinct timeline, that included actual facts, but that’s not what they did here. It’s a total mess. Probably one of the worst podcasts I’ve ever listened to.

Enjoyable Podcast
I’ve listened to this podcast on and off since it premiered years ago and it’s easy fun listening. Highly recommend for when you’re in the mood for storytelling in the background of cleaning driving doing whatever you want to have some passive listening for.

Great podcaster!
Always impressed by the writing and presentation. Really engaging and entertaining, much better than most true crime podcasts. The interweaving of history and parallel stories works nicely. Don’t really understand the low ratings - volume too low -really?

How close horror lives to history
You found it dude. PERFECT TAG LINE! I watched that Geraldo episode 5 gillion times in my gararrrge dude Thank you so much for these recent episodes especially. Great history and clips make the listen so fun

Exceptional podcast!
Haven’t followed it for long, but learned about the story with a tie-in to Dante’s Inferno… and let’s just say I am hooked! The research done for this reminds me of my fave, Murder Mile, in which the podcaster literally goes into library of criminal records to sort through and finds things so amazing. Thrilled I found this podcast.

Go back!
I used to really enjoy this podcast, but lately it has been hard to hear (although the adds are super loud) and they load my feed with a ton of podcasts I don’t want to listen to. At the end of my patience and about to unfollow…

PLEASE stop putting other podcasts in this feed! I’m sick of having to delete them every week. It’s ANNOYING.

Too sloppy
I first noticed the host calling the killer by the wrong name in season 2. Later he got the name of a fraternal organization wrong while claiming it is satanic. During the bigfoot episode he repeatedly called the famous Patterson Gimlin film “Peterson Gimlin.” I don’t mind him considering himself more of a storyteller than a documentarian, but if you’re going to talk about real people and organizations, get the names right.

Enjoy the show. Fix the volume.
But yes, fix the volume. The discrepancy between the show and the ads is so annoying. Otherwise, good stuff.

Creepypasta
This “author” took a real crime and turned it into his own fictionalized Creepypasta in a way I’m not even sure should be legal. The “facts” of the Sullivan case that he uses to shore up his supernatural fantasy are completely fabricated. And his weak excuse that he has access to some secret files is as questionable as the rest of this mess. If you want to write fiction, write fiction. This is just gross and the guy making money off it should be ashamed.

Great research and stories, wonderful presentation, but dude! I don’t have 11 on my dial. Fix the volume!!

Love the tie ins to literature and history
I love the tangents on history and the comparisons to famous texts. I’ve always passed on The Devine Comedy, but now I think I’ll actually read it. Especially if Dante is as good as Branden claims.

Crossed a line
This podcast was entertaining until Satan’s Shadow Episode 4 where the narrator calls a traumatized victim of sexual assault trying to protect her child “stupid”. Absolutely disgusting.

Refreshing
This is a refreshing podcast. Not just grizzly facts. It is well written, informative, and educational. I now want to read Duante’s inferno. A true crime podcast that should become a novella.

Loving it
I’ve been listening to this podcast since the first season in each season keeps getting better. The current season with the Nightstalker and Dante’s Inferno is just genius. And the bonus episodes just make it better.
Pupmidnight81
What is this Podcast about?
Podcast is supposed to be about the night stalker. 75% is nonsense about Dante’s Inferno that has nothing to do with the night stalker story. Can’t even keep track of what’s going on.
Crichton243
Sound effects?
Please stop with the sound effects. They are not necessary and are off putting and disturbing. I’ve listened for years through bad editing but the storytelling is solid somI stick around. The sound effects on the most recent episode are too far though.

Pick a lane
You’re a great story teller but this is my first season listening to you and I have a hard time understanding if this is a podcast on Dante’s inferno or a story on the night stalker.. I came to hear the story of the night stalker but it seams 75% of each episode is filler telling the story of Dante’s inferno… Get to the meat and potatoes already
Seeking the ultimate podcast
All good but Season 4 is exceptional
The correlation between Dante’s Inferno and Ramirez’s life is amazing. I’ve listened to all the episodes twice. It’s given me a re-appreciation for the literature I was required to read as a teenager. Well done!
Nobody…ASKED
Like the stories, don’t care about your political views. Some background info wrong on bonus ep
The actual stories you tell are well researched and put together nicely. I enjoy them very much. However, some of your views and info is wrong on the bonus episodes. To name a few the church does explain what happens to all the people before Christ. It’s literally in a Catholic prayer. The liberal political view can be left out about Elon’s charity, which he gives millions to, or how your guest called the president a rapist. Just comment on the stories. If I want politics I’ll listen to a political podcast.

Alright. Not far from the best.
It’s alright. Some things are spewed that are actually false. 2 stars because I’m polite.

Tech issues detract from story
I love listening to this podcast…interesting stories and varied topics. You clearly do your homework. But please double check your eps before you drop them. Your voice tracks are overlapping, making it extremely difficult to listen. This happened with the Demonic Possession episode, but has happened before. I know you can do better, Brandon!

Need editing
I really like this podcast but you need to check your recordings before dropping them. This episode is unlistenable Devil Possession in the Digital Age

I want to love this. I like the subject. But editing really needs some help.

PLEASE Hire an Editor!!!
For the love of all that is holy, HIRE AN EDITOR!!! I’ve been listening for a few years now, and noticed quite a few hiccups in this podcast, yet enjoyed the content and continued to endure the horrible editing. But today, I’m done. Absolutely horrendous editing. Like honestly, do you even listen to this before you release it? Because if you did, I think you would want to do something about it. At the very least, perhaps have someone ELSE just give it a listen before you release the episode.

Diverse topics and well told
I love this podcast. I am constantly surprised by the new stories I haven’t heard before. Well researched and soothing to listen to.

The average should be higher
I wish people had to learn how to review before they’re allowed to write one. I listened to Season 1 a while ago and listened again a year or so ago, then just found the later seasons. The first season was intense and absorbing (I grew up in the Satanic Panic and only found out it was fake a few years ago!!!) but the later ones are fun too! I enjoy the host’s voice and storytelling style. Blaming him for ads or leaving one star because you disagree is ignorant and childish.

Original Dhampir
The first historian to give proper credit to the word “vampire” (“dhampir”) being distinctly of Albanian origin. It was my childhood nickname. Would love more of a deep dive on this as Albanians are often robbed of our folkloric history.

Top Quality Podcast
I love the music, sound effects and narration that goes into each episode. Very immersive. I’ve listened to season one and season two quite I bit. Especially around Halloween! 🎃 keep up the good work Branden!
