This podcast has changed my life
In a world of grasping for solutions to the many crises and problems facing all of us in our lives and in our societies, this podcast has really helped me center what’s real in my approach to life and struggle. It often feels like listening to someone say out loud what you know to be true but you hadn’t realized it or been able to articulate it yet. I’m really grateful to Death Panel for the work you do and that I chose to go to the Luigi talk in Chicago not really knowing what it would be about!

Essential for deepening understanding
Disability & its intersections with criminalization, gender, race, & medicalization is an under explored & essential lens for both understanding our current moment & how to move towards liberation. I’ve been learning so, so much & recommend this incredibly smart podcast for everyone. Join the Patreon if you can.

Experimentation
Really enjoyed the show. Hope you guys can keep going for as long as possible. I also hope that you guys are following the case in Georgia of a black woman being forced to carry a baby even though she is clinically brain dead and the baby is also showing signs of abnormalities in the womb.

Thank you!!
This podcast has kept me sane and alive through the past five years. Without this podcast I would have fallen for the liberal gaslighting that Biden ended Covid and I would not be here today.

Serious education: I listen to each one twice
These Death Panel folks are providing a powerful critical examination of health policy ( such as it is) in the US. I’m always learning from them. Probably the most important pod I’ve listened to this last 12 months.
Update years later: better than ever, truer than ever.

Mask Bans are Unconstitutional
The chilling effect on protesting mask bans will have is a violation of freedom of assembly. If this goes to the Supreme Court, though, I fear they will rule in the wrong direction. Thanks for highlighting this important issue!

I love Death Panel
Death panel is the one podcast I always catch the minute a new episode is released. It's probably the last remaining voice against all of the propaganda in our media gaslighting us into believing that Covid doesn't exist. It's really easy to feel alone in the world right now and the perspectives expressed in this podcast feel validating and supportive in a human rights / harm reduction context. Thank you for your solidarity.

The pandemic is over
Your podcast was informative i think people should be free to wear masks or whatever they want. But we are not still in the pandemic its been over for over a year.

These folx are brilliant
Some of the most unique, erudite discussion on core issues of policy, philosophy and political theory out there. Just great.

Great disability podcast
One of the few places in 2024 still taking Covid seriously

“Embodied expertise”
I am new to the Death Panel and every episode is like a graduate seminar in why things are the way they are. Thank you for your analysis of these terrifying paradigms and lived realities. “Medicare for all is the floor not the ceiling.” Thank you for all you do.

Essential listening with important knowledge
This is such a great podcast. The discussion of masking and mandates and public health is excellent.

lots of good info but…
I once listened religiously at the peak of the pandemic but the snarky attitude of the hosts makes this insufferable. The haughty laughs every 10 seconds, I just can’t… 😮💨

Every time i listen i learn more about history and political economy and the tragic ways they intersect with dis/ability and ableism under capitalism.

Makes me not feel alone
This show makes me feel educated and makes me feel like I’m not the only Covid cautious person left in the world. Keep up the good work!

How Capitalism Kills
I love this series. Thank you for making these talks available to everyone. I’m not sure what it takes to wake up Americans to the destructive nature of our piecemeal and ableist capitalist healthcare system but I so appreciate your efforts.

Great podcast about health policy
Though I do wish the outro songs were credited in the episode descriptions

Disappointing
Beatrice and Artie are developing a reputation for kicking anyone who disagrees with them out of the DP discord and being unable to take any criticism of the show. Wealthy art school kids posing as activists. I’ve stopped financially supporting this project.

Thoughtful political economy of health
Well worth listening to as people struggle with understanding the insanity of the system and avoiding hyper individualism. I wish they’d allow direct subscriptions rather than patreon.

Must listen!
I couldn't say it better than RoadToNowhere2023's review!

Essential and groundbreaking
I would be losing my mind right now without this podcast. It is one of the only media outlets speaking honestly and intelligently about the what we all know is happening.

Despite
I am rating this five stars because it’s such important information. Unfortunately it is unlistenable to me because of the plosives (when p or other consonants pop on the mic). I have sensory processing disorder and these types of sounds give me extreme anxiety. I hope the makers of this podcast resolve this issue. If that happens, I’ll be a dedicated listener.
Tips: there are plosive filters in most audio editing software - it’s tedious but it works. Another option is using pop filters which are very cheap to purchase and/or recording a bit further from the microphone.

If I used this space to share my actual experience with this podcast I assume Beatrice would try to have it deleted for being too negative since she deleted me from the discord server for speaking out about being psychologically and emotionally abused by a guest on their podcast/reading list

Essential content
I listen each week to gain rare insight and perspective into salient issues that are systemic and negatively impacting our daily lives. I’ll admit it, I’m addicted and can’t miss a single episode. The fact that they cover these issues with such great care to *true* equity is entirely refreshing and exceptionally rare.

Evidence-based. Informative. Hilarious at times. Feel like I’m sitting and listening to friends who are conservationists chat.

Amazing podcast! I’m recommending it rampantly.

Amazing podcast
Great guests and great reporting

critical for the current neoliberal hellscape
really needed analysis for the current moment as well as for public health, a field which has too often sided with vertical, cost effective, neoliberal solutions rather than more meaningful systemic change.

Thank you!
Thank you for in-depth, interesting conversations and for helping me articulate exactly what I find so wrong with the broader conversations about disability, disease, and justice.

Mean
First, they have a really great sound.
The content is good but is often mean and petty. They have a stable of enemies who they deride by name almost every episode in really personal vitriolic ways. This doesn’t really add to the content of the episodes. It’s like sitting with the cool mean kids at lunch, it’s fun but I don’t feel great about it.

Would give this 10 stars if I could
This podcast has been one of the only things keeping me sane and grounded throughout the pandemic. Every episode is well researched and provides critiques of systems of power that give me hope for the future.

Just plain good
Started listening to Death Panel during their first "Medicare for All Week" became a patreon during the Pandemic. The analysis of policy and current events has really helped keep me sane and grounded throughout the last year. Highly reccomend for both the analysis and humor. Also the music selection at the end of every episode is a joy.

School reopenings
The podcast is snarky, intellectually honest, and has some great guests on the show. Definitely one of my favorites. On the subject of school reopenings, (which I’m so glad, as a teacher, they are covering steadfastly), I believe they gloss over the issue of harmful impacts to children’s mental health from persistent school building closures. There *is* research and news to indicate that depression and suicide has increased due to children’s intense social isolation this past year, and it would be good for the podcasters to cover this issue, especially with the help of a guest mental health professional, in conjunction with their hearty advocacy for safety above all (which, to be clear, I agree with). Not in order to spark debate - rather, to give a fuller picture about the complex nature of the ecology of how schools, coronavirus, and children’s well-being relate and present distinct challenges.

Covers tons of great topics with super important guests
Most podcasts on public health I listen to are boring, and most left-wing podcasts I listen to only give very surface level analysis on the political economy of health.
It's probably the only podcast I can think of that so specifically appeals to communist epidemiologists so that's a plus for the 4 of us that exist in the english speaking world!

Necessary, enlightening, and a great time
The whole crew has such an amazing insight onto our society and it has been a real learning experience for me. I could not recommend it more. The analysis, the time they take, the arguments are all so well thought-out.

Favorite Political Pod
I am a reformed Pod Save America listener turned Death Panel patron. I was looking for something smart, funny, and genuine and this is it. I highly recommend this pod to any ‘progressive liberal’ who is feeling disillusioned with the Dems and wants a more left perspective from a group of thoughtful, empathetic folks.

Digging deeper than other art-adjacent pods
Death Panel is great. Guests from orgs like Survived and Punished and the Modern Money Network join kind, intelligent hosts to do hi-res analysis of current events and social issues from a leftist perspective. Truly humanist and truly critical of systems of power and capital
