In the second segment, take the time to listen to this episode's special guest - a Dad, husband, mentor, advocate, and all-around great man - who has experienced PAS as the targeted parent. Our special guest brings PAS to light and adds the, preverbal, face to the name using personal stories and learned lessons from his experiences. PAS is real and it affects thousands and thousands of parents, most of whom are, in fact, fathers. Don't miss out on this informative and excellent episode of The Dads Count Podcast!  From the guest host, "Check out the Facebook Group: Parental Alienation Support and Information Solution. Dad Jokes - 5/21/21
Join Mike, riding solo this week, and slightly sober at the time, as he breaks down the history of Dad Jokes and explains why they are so important in society today - not just as source of entertainment in the popular lexicon, but for Dad to bond with his children in a harmless, caring, meaningful, and very clever way. Through the use of linguistic trickery, and with the help of social media and other platforms of the 21st century, Dad has been able to develop much stronger relationships with his children as they grow and develop into young men and women. Dad is so important in the lives of his children, and it's not just the big things that count, but the little things that matter as well! So don't underestimate the power of a good Dad Joke ... you may catch yourself using them one day and then you, too, will realize how powerful they are!  Speaking of power, do you want to go to the cemetery later on to visit Superman? Lex said he was going to be in his Kryptonite.  *** Warning *** Although The Dads Count Podcast is a family program, explicit language may be heard.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/support

A Disparity in the Family Courts - 5/14/21
Despite the perception (one that is new to us!) that Dads come out on top more often than Moms when it comes to custody and visitation of their children, the true disparity in the family court system is in favor of Mom. Dad is, more often than not, and we mean up to 90% of the time, given the preverbal sh*t end of the stick. Mothers are given majority custody and visitation over Dads with little to no evidence whatsoever. Dads, on the other hand, need to fight an uphill battle for as much. Join your hosts, Mike and Danielle, as they explain why the belief that Dads have the upper hand in the family court room is 100% false, and the opposite is 100% true. *** Warning *** Although The Dads Count Podcast is a family program, explicit language may be heard.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/support

Dad and Abortion - 5/7/21
*** Disclaimer *** This episode of The Dads Count Podcast contains very sensitive topics and material. It is the stance of this program that abortion is wrong, in any case, and much of the content of this episode confirms this statement. Please listen at your own discretion.  Description: On this episode of the The Dads Count Podcast, Mike and Danielle tackle the abortion debate - more specifically, a Dad's say in whether or not an abortion occurs. The Dads Count Team begs the question: Why can't Dad have a say in whether or not his child's life is terminated? Dads are severely overlooked and disregarded when it comes to this very sensitive and controversial issue, and The Dads Count Team wants to change that. Dads should have a say! This episode of jam-packed, and we encourage you to listen and weigh in.   *** Warning *** Although The Dads Count Podcast is a family program, explicit language may be heard.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/support

Manhood, Healthy Masculinity, and Chivalry - 4/30/21
Mike rides solo on this one as Danielle heads to the Jersey Shore for the weekend. Join him as he discusses why healthy masculinity is, in fact, HEALTHY - not just for young men, but for their families, society and the community around them. It takes Dad, or another positive male role model such as a stepDad, teacher, sports coach, and/or the like, to provide certain life skills to their children, boys and girls alike, that Mom just cannot provide on her own. Moreover and more specifically, it takes Dad, or that positive male role model, to teach boys how to achieve manhood, accomplish healthy masculinity and how to demonstrate chivalry in order for them to become gentlemen and well-rounded contributors to society. Thus, they may perpetuate this positive cycle. Special Guest, and Mike's Dad, Mike DeMayo Jr., calls in explain how that is very much possible! Mike Jr. also helps break down the positive impact that sports coaches have on the lives of the athletes, young and seasoned, under their guidance.  The war on manhood, masculinity, and chivalry is real and it is detrimental. Manhood, masculinity, and chivalry are critical in what it takes to be a gentleman. Dads, we must not let any one of them perish; we must continue to instill them in our sons, regardless of how society feels about it.  *** Warning *** Although The Dads Count Podcast is a family program, explicit language may be heard.   --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/support

The History of Custody/Child Support and Why We Aren't Making Progress - 4/23/21
The history of custody and child support in the United States, like the United States itself, is fairly new. Join your hosts Mike and Danielle as they elaborate on how custody and child support was developed, how it evolved and changed over time, why mothers are favorited in about 90% of all custody cases, and why there has been very little - and we mean VERY LITTLE - progress since about the 1980s. Therefore, Mike explains why believes that expanding and protecting fathers' rights is the much needed civil rights movement of the modern day.  *** Warning *** Although The Dads Count Podcast is a family program, explicit language may be heard.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/support

MMS and GAS - 4/16/21
Mike and Danielle explain what Malicious Mother Syndrome (MMA) is (yes, it is a real thing!) and how it can and often does lead to Grandparent Alienation Syndrome (GAS). GAS is rarely studied and often overlooked in the court of law, but there is a beacon of hope out there as Pennsylvania sets the standard for equality when it comes to grandparents rights to custody of and/or visitation with their grandchildren - the only state to do so. Grandparents play an important role in the lives of their grandchildren, and must be afforded the opportunity to assist in the care and comfort of their grandchildren in order to ensure positive adolescent life experiences. Dads Count advocates for alienated grandparents. Don't give up! Grandparents Count! *** Warning *** Although The Dads Count Podcast is a family program, explicit language may be heard.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dadscount/support
