Welcome To The Creative Nomad Show
With Special Guest Heather Workman
Transforming Lives: An Inspiring Conversation with Oracle and Shaman Heather Workman
Heather Workman is a divine being who has overcome trauma and loss, including the death of both parents and a partner. In a conversation with JP Adkins, she shares her vulnerabilities to help others know that they are not alone in their struggles. Heather emphasizes that healing is an ongoing process, and everyone gets triggered from time to time, including herself.
JP and Heather delve into the topic of emotions and triggers, discussing the importance of being self-aware and recognizing what triggers certain emotions. They talk about how older generations were taught to suppress their emotions, leading to physical health issues. The conversation highlights the importance of being aware of one’s emotions and triggers and dealing with them in a healthy manner.
Heather bravely shares her journey with various mental health conditions, including fibromyalgia, complex PTSD, OCD, depression due to chronic pain, and ADHD. She explains that as an adult, hyperactivity is no longer an issue for her, but she still struggles with acknowledging and processing her emotions.
The conversation revolves around grief and the misconception that it follows a set pattern, with stages that lead to eventual closure. Heather reveals that she lost her mother when she was young and continues to feel the effects of that loss every day. She talks about the inadequate timelines we impose on ourselves to process grief, such as drinking for a month and a half or sitting shiva for seven days.
Heather emphasizes the importance of acknowledging triggers and exploring the reasons behind them, which allows one to change their thought process and move forward. The conversation ends with the realization that grief never goes away, and the key is to learn to live with it and accept it as part of the human experience.
Through her own experiences, Heather inspires listeners to start their own journey towards living their true, awesome life by visiting TrueawesomeLife.com. Her message is clear: accept yourself and your emotions, acknowledge your triggers, and take the time to process them in a healthy way.

Welcome To The Creative Nomad Show
With Special Guest Ken Noble
On This Episode:
JP Adkins is proud to welcome Ken Noble to the TrueAwesomeLife.com-sponsored Creative Nomads podcast. With over 20 years of coaching and training experience, Ken is an executive director with the Maxwell Leadership team, and is passionate about making the world a better place through adding value to those he works with.
John Maxwell’s Role in Coaching
JP and Ken discuss the impact that John Maxwell has had on the coaching world. For those who haven’t heard of John Maxwell, he’s a renowned coach, speaker, trainer, and developer, and is known for his authenticity.
Titles and Expectations
Ken and JP talk about why they don’t use titles such as Reverend or Pastor due to the pressures that come with them. Ken has been in ministry for almost 20 years, and he’s all too familiar with the world’s expectations, either to compare their beliefs to his, or expect him to be perfect.
Living Into the Listening
Ken Noble then shared a quote to illustrate the importance of titles and how they can influence how people perceive you: “God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the call.” They also discussed the concept of living into the listening, which is when people unconsciously act according to the perceived title of the person they are speaking with.
The Power of Connecting on Common Ground
JP shared a funny story about a business opportunity that didn’t work out due to the script he handed them. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of connecting with people on common ground, and how it is important to research what that common ground may be in order to effectively communicate.
Reminding Yourself of Who You Are
The conversation then shifted to the importance of understanding one’s self and having a clear idea of who one truly is and not being swayed by the scripts of others. JP, who has done the Landmark Forum, talked about how it took him quite a while to figure out who he was as opposed to who he thought he was based on everyone’s input. They encouraged listeners to take the time to remind themselves of who they are and not be influenced by the scripts of others. Ken and JP shared how they wake up each morning and actively remind themselves who they are in their highest form, meditate, journal, and prepare themselves for the world.
