Amogh Ranadive
A Manchester United fan and a Liverpool fan from India team up to create a football discussion show that is filled with in depth analysis (lol), accurate statistics (SURE!) and opinions that make a difference (to nobody)!
Is The G.O.A.T Back?
Ooooh what a weekend of football! United managed to beat Spurs 3-2, with Cristiano Ronaldo registering a hattrick. Does that mean that Amogh is going to go back on his word from last couple of weeks where he alleged that Ronnie wasn't the best player in that squad? There's a tasty debate lined up... The boys also discuss the effect of the sanctions on Roman Abramovich and therefore Chelsea FC, and what that means for the fans...the same fans who were dumb enough to chant his name during a period of slience.  We also talk about the relegation battle as Everton look more and more likely to be sucked in. Could we see the Toffees in the Championship next season? My Parents Gave Me So Many Gifts
The Manchester derby happened, and everybody expected the result. Another dismal performance from United sees Amogh fully give up. The boys also talk about Liverpool's hard fought victory against West Ham, Moyes' methods and Newcastle's fairytale resurgence! What Even Is A Handball?
The boys are back to discuss what was possibly the most entertaining 0-0 draw, in the Carabao Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool. The question still remains though - the the Carabao Cup relevant anymore? We also discuss all the happenings in the Premier League fixtures, including Christian Eriksen's return to a football pitch, Man United's lack of goals, Bielsa's lack of a job and VAR's lack of competence. Seriously, how was that not a handball by Rodri?! Haathi Ka Anda Laa!
After some mad celebrations for Amogh's wedding, the boys are back to discuss all things football! Except...we didn't have time to prepare a run order for the show. So this episode is just the boys winging it for close to an hour! We did manage to touch upon the wind swept classic at Elland Road, with Man United coming out 2-4 winners. We also discuss Spurs' brilliant victory over City that throws the title race wide open!  Liverpool survided a scare from Norwich and ended up 3-1 winners, with Luis Diaz getting his first goal for the club. But how does one pronounce his name? Plus, Aakarsh gives us a great insight into what Craig Dawson's complaints to the referee about Chris Wood were all about! A Great Week For Upsets
The FA Cup 4th Round gave us some massive upsets and some close calls! Middlesborough knocked Man United out on penalties and Amogh has slid straight into depression. Everton beat Brentford 4-1, and Aakarsh has come out of depression! Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest smashed Leicester City 4-1, and Brendan Rodgers was NOT happy. Neither was that Leicester fan who ran out on to the pitch. Kidderminster Harriers and Plymouth Argyle almost beat West Ham and Chelsea, but it wasn't to be. The boys discuss all the action and also round up what has been a hilariously memorable AFCON...and play another edition of #RandiRona! Deadline Day Death
Apologies for the late upload! We waited an extra day to make sure we got all the deadline day news in, and then had to wait another day due to 'technical difficulties.' Although, we're pretty sure Amogh just held the upload to see if United would make any moves AFTER the window shut. Spoiler alert: They didn't. The boys discuss Dele and VDB's moves to Everton and if they can review their careers, Newcastle's smart moves and whatever the hell went on with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang! Digne Take Him Too Long
It goes from bad to worse for Everton, as Lucas Digne made an immediate impact on his return to Goodison Park, providing the assist to Emi Buendia's winner. While Aakarsh was not around to rant about his beloved Toffees, Amogh was full of glee at Man United's back to back victories over Brentford and West Ham! Against all odds, United now find themselves in 4th spot. Who would have thunk it? After the Brentford victory, Bees manager Thomas Frank was not too pleased, maybe his mercury is in retrograde!  Meanwhile Watford slumped to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Norwich, which also gave us a goal of the season contender in Josh Sargent's scorpion kick. This result takes Norwich OUT OF THE RELEGATION ZONE! But this also means Ranieri's position as manager of Watford is under threat. (UPDATE: Ranieri was sacked 30 minutes after we finished recording. What ya, Watford.) We also talk about the Indian Womens Football Team and their abrupt end to the AFC Womens Asian Cup, thanks to a COVID outbreak in the camp. Rafa Dafa Ho Gaya
Hear that guys? That's the sound of our very own Aakarsh Chandan being...happy! Yes, it's happened. After an abysmal run of form, Rafa Benitez has finally been sacked as manager of Everton! What does this mean for the Toffees? Is the season still a write off? Who should be taking charge? Aakarsh rants about it all! Also, Amogh rants about Manchester United...because what is even the point of loving that football club anymore? Ralf's gegenpressing isn't really working, and things need to change. Maybe it wasn't Ole's fault after all... We also talk about the shambles that are COVID postponements, and the weirdest footballer name...ever.  Follow us on Instagram and Twitter @cornerflagpod Visit us on www.thecornerflag.in and hit that donate button! "I Know The City"
The FA Cup 3rd round is always fantastic because there are some giant killings in store for us! That was certainly the case as Nottingham Forest downed an Arsenal dressed in a unique all white kit. Cambridge United beat Newcastle United 1-0 to make Kieran Trippier's start to life at Newcastle a miserable one, and while Shrewsbury Town looked like they would knock out Liverpool, the kids came up with the goods and Liverpool won 4-1! We also talk about Hull narrowly missing out victory over Everton, with special emphasis on Rafa Benitez's terrible tactics. His excuse? He knows the city. Bhai waah. Stay In The Storm, Romelu!
Following Lukaku's unauthorised interview with Sky Italia where he professed his love and yearning for a return to Inter Milan, Thomas Tuchel promptly dropped him from the matchday squad against Liverpool. Liverpool looks to be in cruise control after going 2-0 up but stunning goals from Kovacic and Pulisic got Chelsea back into the game! Elsewhere, Arsenal looked to get one over league leaders Man City, but their absolute stupidity got the better of them, and a last minute winner from Rodri settled it in the Cityzen's favour. Plus, West Ham returned to winning ways against Crystal Palace, and Aakarsh imploded on the podcast much like Everton. Also, new year, new #RandiRona
