Tonatiuh Newbold is a musician, musical theater performer, mountain man and friend. Shortly after entering UC Merced and following the path laid out in front of him by family, teachers, counselors, and hell, even me, Tonatiuh decided to move to Yosemite and follow his desires to pursue a life surrounded by music and nature. Despite his best efforts to run away from the calamity he experienced at UC Merced, Tonatiuh found himself immersed in a world that was more of the same. Eventually, Tonatiuh had to revision his friendships, his hobbies, and who he wanted to be as a person to find himself where he is today.
