Callum Davies is an elite Australian middle distance runner in the final months of his PhD investigating the biomechanics of running at the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences at The University of Queensland. His PhD explores the difference in biomechanics at the ankle, knee and hip between elite and sub elite runners. We discuss his studies, writing the first ever warm up protocol for research on runners, and exploring the impact of calf muscle fatigue on running performance between different groups and its effect on their running efficiency. Callum recruited 60 participants throughout his PhD including some of Australias best marathoners providing his a very niche dataset for the literature. His order - a tall glass of water.
