The Contractor Fight could change your life. I stumbled upon Tom’s videos on YouTube a year and a half ago and couldn’t get enough. At the time I was working in the field, a solo handywoman/woodworker/budding contractor trying to forge my own path. Tom was in my ears all day everyday, because everything he was saying made sense. By the way, I had experience as a project manager for a developer, but zero work experience in the field and zero experience starting or running any business. Fast forward to now, I went from less than $60k in annual top-line revenue, with less than $30k left for me, to over $325k in revenue last year and kept over $150k of it. And I absolutely could not have done that without this podcast, and ultimately the TCF coaching program (BATTLEGROUND). The hard knowledge is all in the podcast; the coaching gave me the structure and mental strength and direct guidance to apply all of it quickly. My numbers may sound small to some, but for zero experience and less than 2 years in business I feel proud of those results, and so, so grateful to Tom & The Contractor Fight team for laying out the exact map for how to run a successful contracting business. What’s unique about Tom and the TCF team is how much they really care about helping people be the best version of themselves. Anyone can understanding cash flow and KPI’s; actually being a good human being sets you apart, attracts the right people to you, and that core value permeates everything TCF does, and I think that’s what makes this podcast & the surrounding company special. I have been listening to Tom Reber for over 5 years and have been implementing his free business advice in my business. Now dont get me wrong, This show is freaking awesome and the content is on point but the real game changing happened when I joined his coaching program called Battelground. Tom and his coaches that are on the podcast are true leaders and provide valuable content to run a successful business. I’ve learned how to handle objections, sales skills and having the right numbers. I continue to listen to every episode and still learning something new.

Although it may feel like a broken record for tom, repeating over and over again how to get out of your own head and start actually making a life for your family, every episode is straight gold for the rest of us. Its easy to just listen and not do, but if you actually do what he says, you will see the results he brags about. Toms words have pulled me back from the edge many different times…. When i feel like a failure to myself, to my family, or my clients… I believe in his culture and mindset, we are worth what we need to charge to be around for the long run. He has taught me to just win the day, Then do it tomorrow, and the next day.

I started my remodeling business 2.5 years ago. I basically just created a job for myself as I’ve done EVERYTHING in my “business.” I stumbled across Tom’s podcast a couple months ago and it totally changed my perspective on not only how to actually create a business so I’m not working 7 days a week but also it has shown me what is possible going forward in this industry. I walked into this industry already feeling like an outlier - I started my company as a 21-year-old female. I was discouraged, looked down upon and even laughed at. I had this show recommended to me right before summer of 2023, i immediately fell in love with the show and started binge listening from the start. This show honestly changed my life, it’s not even my business, but my life. Is spurred personal growth along side business growth! I was about to throw in the towel, we where doing phenomenal work, but struggling to make ends meet. Within a week of listening i started making changes, within a month we could afford to live again, now as we are closing in on the last week of the year, (23) business is through the roof, we are in a typical seasonal area, but while others are begging for work on Facebook, we are booked into 24’, planning home remodel projects for our home, and formulating a game plan for the year to come. Without this show, I’d probably be working for someone else again frustrated that i let my dreams slip through my hands. Thank you Fight team!

So I bought in to battleground last year around dec 28th 2022 after following a lot of TOMS free stuff finally decided to pull the trigger and make my life better little did I know there was more to it then just being on another Facebook page the community in this group has taught me so much threw out this 1st year of being in battleground everything from learning how to communicate better with people learning how to price my jobs for profit aNd not just winging a number out of my back pocket being able to be coached and learning my numbers. After years of sleepless nights, I found Tom……. At first I was like na this guy is just talking smack in front of customers, what can he teach me…… then I ran into one of his episodes called 99.9% contractors don’t know this. I was like let’s see what this guy “knows” that I don’t…… and boom switch flipped never lost money on a job for 2 good years now. Tom has taught me more through his programs and online zoom calls than any other contractor I have met in person. Thank you again Tom!!

In 2021 I found Tom & TCFs podcast and started listening. The advice hits home and hits hard. I was a broke contractor. Now in 2023, I still listen to the podcast and continue to implement what I learn. I am no longer that same broke contractor. Listen and learn. Then go live it. It will do the same for you.

As I have come into being a better man, I’ve learned that I need help in doin so. Tom as motivated me to be even better. I started listen in 2022 here and I started by listening to the newer stuff. Of coarse is FB page, videos, podcast and whatever else came my way. After really buying in to what he was selling, I started all the back at episode one and right now I think I am currently on EP 35 or something like that. This man has gold even as far back 2015!! I’m a contractor. I get it we all use lots of swearwords every day. To drop an F bomb every other word is a little on intellectual and was a huge turn off. I won’t be back.

I stumbled across this podcast some time ago. I own a small pest control company. Even though I am not a “contractor” I get tons of value from listening. I recently have had a mind shift as far as pricing and being to cheap. It has only been a couple of weeks since I have decided I am feed up of dealing with the bottom feeders of the world. So far the shift and thinking has been beneficial. My new motto is “we are not going to be anybody's Bug Bi@&ch anymore”. I am anxious to see how this mindset effects our bottoms line. I work for my family general contractor company that I’m set to take over in the next year or two. Recently my wife left me after our plans were to do it together, I’d run the field and she would run the books. For the past 6 months I’ve battled with if I even wanted to take it over without her but the more I listen to you I have come to realize I’m good at this and it’s a goal I have busted my butt for. It’s a good reminder, the cost of a business are always passed onto the consumer. I like the idea of the pool game interviews. I think a good name for it would be “racking it up with Tom” because you’re racking the balls before you start shooting pool, and racking up tips tricks and solid advice

I recently listened to episode 474. That morning I had to have a tough conversation with an employee I really liked and cared about. I listened to This episode on my way to the meeting by chance and it really helped me to approach this situation differently than my instinct was to approach it. That episode was one of the best I’ve ever heard. The emotions involved in the experiences shared really helped me see things from someone else’s point of view.
