It's been a little while, but we're back with an Off Mike Discussions episode! This time around we're mostly talking new releases like THE ODYSSEY, SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY, DISCLOSURE DAY, BACKROOMS, OBSESSION, THE INVITE, and more! Plus, Mike D spent the last two months rewatching all of GAME OF THRONES!

This week, it's time to talk about one of the most notorious films of the '90s, a movie that is arguably more remembered for Roger Ebert's scathing review of it than for the movie itself. So we have to ask: is NORTH as bad as its reputation? Could Rob Reiner - who had directed so many classic films - stumble this much in his generational run? Couldn't the insane cast this movie assembles save it somehow? Well, it's time to find out - since Elijah Wood is in it, we've got to talk about NORTH!

It's time for the biggest movie of young Elijah Wood's career (well, unless you count BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II). This week, Elijah Wood is paired up with the biggest child star on the planet in the early '90s, Macaulay Culkin, for a tense thriller about a sociopathic child. Or is it a dark comedy? Did it really traumatize a generation? And most importantly - is it any good (son)? We'll find out if Mr. Highway is thinking about the end!

It's time for another Mike Makes Mike Watch! This time around, Mike D continues our run of episodes on the films of Roland Emmerich by making Smith watch THE PATRIOT. Meanwhile, Smith is making Mike D catch up with one of his favorite films from one of the best filmmakers alive, Paul Thomas Anderson's MAGNOLIA!

This week, Elijah Wood is front-and-center as the star of the Disney adventure film based on the classic Mark Twain book, THE ADVENTURES OF HUCK FINN! From director Stephen Sommers (who would go on to direct Mike D favorite THE MUMMY), Wood stars alongside Courtney B. Vance, as well as a huge ensemble cast including Ron Perlman, Robbie Coltrane, Curtis Armstrong, and Anne Heche (in her film debut)!

This week, Elijah Wood stars alongside Mel Gibson and Jamie Lee Curtis in one of the very first screenplays written by J.J. Abrams, 1992's FOREVER YOUNG! Gibson is a pre-World War II fighter pilot who gets cryogenically frozen and wakes up in the '90s, where he befriends Elijah Wood and goes on a journey to return to the one he loves!

It's time for Mike Smith's annual Birthday By-Law episode! This year, he's finally getting around to a movie he really should have seen by now: 2005's THE BAXTER, written, directed by, and starring Michael Showalter. He and Mike D talk about the movie and Smith's lifelong obsession with the work of Showalter and David Wain!

This week, Eilijah Wood stars as an imaginary friend named Day-O in a TV movie called... DAY-O! Also starring Delta Burke, Charles Shaughnessy, and Fred Thompson, and boldy staking their claim to Harry Belafonte's classic song a couple of years after BEETLEJUICE cemented it in a cinematic classic.

This week, Elijah Wood co-stars with JURASSIC PARK's Joe Mazzello in 1992's RADIO FLYER! Directed by Richard Donner, from the writer of THE SANDLOT, and also featuring Lorraine Bracco, Adam Baldwin, John Heard, and an uncredited Tom Hanks, it's a film that mixes flights of fantasy with realistic depictions of incredibly dark subject matter. How well does it mesh together? Now you can find out!
