Just binged through your podcast the last couple of days and thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling and overall compassion you hold as crime scene cleaners. I was disappointed to see you haven’t posted episodes in a while that I hope your business and family are doing well. Hope you come back with more stories.

I appreciate your view points and the compassion & respect you show to your clients. Yes, sometimes you laugh and make jokes that some people may find inappropriate. But I appreciate that also. About 15 years ago, the guy I was dating received a phone call on a Sunday afternoon from his sister. She was at the police department in a neighboring town. Her roommate had been killed in a murder/suicide late Saturday night. She had just been informed she would be responsible for cleaning the crime scene. She was mortified! I’ve always had a fascination with (for lack of better terms) gore. I told her I would clean it. I was around 27 years old and had no idea that you are responsible for cleaning crime scenes or having them cleaned. I immediately wanted to start doing it as a job. But my children were small and it just seemed out of reach. My children are adults now and after listening to your 2nd episode, I called my daughter who is an EMT and asked her if she wanted to start a business. She and her best friend are all in!! Thank you for bringing back the memory of something I truly want to do and making it seem achievable! You’re awesome

I find this kind of stuff extremely fascinating. I was super close to becoming a crime scene cleanup person and was bummed when I had to turn down the position. This podcast gives you a peak into what really happens after someone dies.

I don’t know how I missed this podcast while active, but I am sure I am one of millions of would-have-been fans while it is was active. The hostess is a perfect storyteller of stories that want to be told. Even more, the stories help the rest of us realize stories we need to hear. What would it take to bring this podcast back? At least please try Patreon? Could that help you hire someone part time so that you could continue? Please apply for grants, whatever it takes. This podcast needs to be heard.

Come back! You shared stories and experiences that were totally foreign to me and most of us! You are sincere, honest and respectful of unpleasant circumstances, and darn it, I miss the sprinkling of humor. Please reconsider. We are here for you!

This is quite the personal journal & true crime mix!! Definitely a unique podcast but in a good way for sure. I spread the episodes out when I saw that there was no new episodes but am out now 😫

I hope the narrator and the author of this excellent podcast aren’t too discouraged by a few of the more negative reviews. I’ve listened to all issues and am sorry there aren’t more. It was an excellent portrayal of one of the jobs we all know is necessary, but about which we know so little. Vanessa and Ethan, I wish you well and will keep your podcast in my app in the event you ever decide to pick up where you left off. Thank you.

This is a great podcast. The stories are unique for the true crime genre in that it gives the listener a different perspective. Very interesting!

Wow! I just found this pod (1/29/19) only to realize at the end of the episode, that it was the final episode. I understand the reasoning behind it, which is fair and just. It is however disappointing. I’m very happy though, that I have a full season yet to be heard. Good luck and best wishes to the hosts. Thank for the stories you’ve shared. ~TL

I binge-listened to all available podcasts over the last two days while cleaning the bejeezus out of my house & garage and I’m not even sure why. Vanessa is clearly reading the story, not just telling with notes, and it’s not about the science of cleaning, or forensic investigation (& doesn’t pretend to be) it doesn’t even have really gory nitty-gritty drama details, I think the appeal is all just about the humanism. There’s a sense of sensitivity and reverence to the trauma there in the stories, an empathy for those involved, and so far, there has been a variety in the “types” of stories told and care to not be repetitive.

This podcast was thoughtfully and well produced. Vanessa’s recollection of some of her jobs was amazing. To recall all of the details and relay it to her audience was amazing. But, what happened after April 2018? No more shows? I hope you return to do more.

I listened to the first episode and was hooked. The host is perfect for this type of narration. The sound quality is spot on and I’m very happy I found this podcast! (P.s. HIRE ME! 🙃)

I stumbled upon this podcast and found the storyline of a couple who are in the business of cleaning up crime scenes to be fascinating. It is something I know nothing about, yet now I’m hooked! I truly hope they start a Season2!

The subject is different and unusual- but bit by bit there was an ignorant remark here and there and eventually (Q&A episode) she completely fails at comprehending the complexity and despair regarding depression. You’d think someone dealing with this regularly would have some depth. Seems the ability to remove oneself from the nature of the work, also requires being shallow.
