Mel is someone that I have the pleasure of working with and who has shared bits of his story with me. He spent 38 years of his life locked up for a crime he wasn't guilty of. In that time he got to help countless amounts of inmates find their way into spirituality and now he has taken that same skillset and he is doing the same outside for people being reintroduced into society after a long prison sentence. Today the Sober Caucus met up for a post-convention business meeting and we crossed a pretty monumental threshold. We are able to offer a couple of scholarships to people seeking recovery due to all of the amazing love we have gotten via donations and the like. So to commemorate this milestone, I figured I would do a throwback to an episode from January 2021 where I interviewed Kim Ruff and the concept of a "Straightedge Caucus" was born.
