I didn’t know there was a volume 2. Waiting and waiting… maybe a reference or notation in volume 1 also the logo shouldn’t both look the same.

I just started the podcast and love it. What was the related project he is/was working on that caused him to take a brake from this one? I need more! 😅

This podcast provides great insights into Christian history

This podcast is such a gift to students of the Bible and of Near/Middle Eastern history! If you’re a student of the Bible and not listening to this, you’re seriously missing out on a rich well of [free] education. I want to tell everyone to listen and my hope is that the producer/narrator doesn’t ever stop making these!

I’m so glad I found this show and I’m working my way from the very start. I love the length at mostly 20-25 minutes and the wealth of information broken up in digestible chunks. I can’t wait to catch up and get the weekly releases with Volume 2.

This is quite possibly one of the greatest, if not the greatest crash courses in Biblical and ancient human history ever presented. The host is incredibly, painstakingly thorough (at times humorously so) and all the material is just great. I wish I had found this sooner, but now I’ve got 5 years of back catalogue to enjoy while I work my way up!

I have only made it to the second season, episode 53 so far, but I am enjoying the podcast. I listen to 1-3 episodes every day and enjoy the voice and subject matter. I would recommend this podcast to anyone interested in the names, places, and people of the Bible and MIddle East.

Love the presentation and depth of knowledge

I found this podcast while looking for a historical companion to a year-long Bible reading plan I started in January. The breadth and depth of content is astounding, and provides a rich context that allows me to enjoy the Bible on a level I was not expecting! I’ve always been a student of history, and after a recent renewal in my faith, this podcast is helping me explore Christianity in a new (to me) and meaningful way.

This is exactly what I was looking for, excellent biblical history podcast! Well researched, thoroughly explained, and detailed account.

It’s very interesting how he ties biblical accounts with what we all should now about world history, all with a very subtle sense of humor. The Sea People was very compelling.

Goes over things thoroughly enough to get intrigued, but not so bogged down to be bored. The podcasts on Cleopatra kept me up because they were so well done. I could literally envision the battle. Well done.

My husband and I love this podcast. We are both Christian and history nerds and we appreciate your extensive research and how you maintain it unbiased. We also enjoy you occasional dry humour.

This podcast was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to learn how the Biblical story intertwines with history and how that has shaped the modern world. I can’t wait until it progresses further, especially to the point of the life of Jesus. It is a great way to learn about things that would be difficult to find on your own.

At first I skipped around and listened to select episodes that I thought would interest me the most. I think that was a good ideas as they were extremely interesting. After about 20, I realized what I was missing out on by not starting at episode 1. The subject knowledge and presentation are superb. Listen to the episode from March 26, 2020 for an explanation into the podcast creator’s preparation and thought process.

Awesome job. Definitely worth the listen.

Works well with a Bible study.

Having found CHP almost 4 years after it was started I am listening to several episode each day while driving for work. As I started another reading through the Bible starting with Genesis, it has proven a great companion to my study. The amount of information is truly amazing & I highly recommend anyone interested in history associated with the foundation of our fairy to give it a try.

I have always thought that I knew my bible from start to finish. For sure I new more than the average person. However, I am truly humbled and in awe of the extent of the knowledge being taught, not only of Christian history but the wealth of world history, archeology, languages, geography, hereditary, geology, the ability to relate it to current events and insert nuggets of humor, is absolutely amazing and a real joy to learn and listen to. “You really should give it a listen”.

This is a fun, easily accessible history lesson with great details. My 13 year old has enjoyed it with me and it leads to very interesting discussions as well as curiosity to ancient world and maps and further research.

This podcast is well constructed, thorough, and unbiased. No agenda is being push. Every effort is made to inform over influence. The listeners are treated with respect regarding their intelligence. Those new to the topic get credible information on their level and advance knowledge seekers get thorough research to back up the history. I have been impressed and learned several things, and this coming with my own degree in theology. It is refreshing to look to at the story of the Bible without feeling like you have to prove a theological point to go with the history.

Well, as unbiased as one can be. This is the single clearest and most comprehensive account of Christian history I’ve come across. Thank you sir, for putting this together.

Well researched and neutral on theology, though he claims to be a Christian and at times will step on his “soapbox” to mention his opinion, he butchers names of places and people but is humble about saying so so I don’t mind as much. I have fact checked him numerous times and found him to be correct and neutral. A refreshing history on where Christianity originated and how it fits into our world.

A well researched podcast which connects past with present. The narrator is pleasant to listen to. So glad this is available. It is relevant in consideration of world history then and now.

I’ve been listening to this podcast for about a month now and I’m very impressed with the clear and concise detail and content. The host clearly demonstrates his knowledge and thorough research. My only complaint is the monotone nature in which the host speaks. Even tho the speaker is very easily understood, at times it makes it easy to drift and get distracted. It often sounds as if he is reading from a script with little enthusiasm. I rate the delivery a 3 and content a 5 for an average of 4. Well done
