Episode 4 of The Chosen Path is about finding purpose. Sometimes you have to go through what you think is the worst thing in order to find the best thing. In Episode 4, we are fortunate to talk to Tom Danielson, former World Tour Pro Cyclist. Tom was a member of the Discovery cycling team during the era of Lance Armstrong. He saw from the front lines the negative impact that doping had on the sport and unfortunately the day before the start of a major stage race, Tom was flagged with a positive test which resulted from an approved supplement that was tainted. Which ended his professional cycling career. After the news broke, Tom received a firestorm of criticism, which was overwhelming and difficult to bear. However, rather than make excuses or lash back, he decided to instead find his true purpose. With a fresh perspective, Tom found a new outcome in the form of CINCH cycling. One of the mantras Tom developed and he uses in his training, ends with the line "when I find myself struggling, I replace my feeling of suffering with my passion for overcoming."So he stood up, dusted himself off and began the process of overcoming. He has coached and inspired individuals ranging from some of the top emerging pros and amateur riders to individuals struggling with personal adversities ranging from depression to cancer. This year, one of the CINCH Elite riders took first place in two of the most difficult and preeminent endurance cycling races in the U.S.. relying on the CINCH process and mindset to persevere and perform. In this episode Tom talks about purpose, perspective and outcomes and how often people are living in a pattern that consistently falls short of their goals, dreams and expectations without an answer as to how to fix it. They are not yet one with their true perspective. The discussion dives into the depth of professional cycling but more importantly the discussion provides a powerful toolbox to win at the game of life. He touches on how to get real with yourself and find your true path. This is an episode you do not want to miss.gJvl6dEnuCxyStyQb7hI

I love this episode. First off, it's a two for one. Secondly, our discussion with Chris was interesting, enlightening and in some cases profound...if you can choose to accept her point of view on choice. In TCP 003, we start off the chat with Matt Tanner, founder of Rollfast Cycling and what it takes to ride the 'Sub-4' in a Gran Fondo. Said another way, this is completing 100+ miles in under 4 hours. In this case, the Rollfast Gran Fondo for a number of years was the fastest in the world with 2017 achieving a lowest time for 100.5 miles in 3 hours and 48 minutes. As the field guide for TCP, my job is to explore the conversation, keep it focused on the general topic at hand but let it go where it is supposed to go. That's what happens in this episode. It goes unexpected but interesting and enlightening places. The whole concept and discussion is around choice. What can you choose or not choose to do in order to improve your health and well being? Sometimes it isn't as complex as you might think. Chris will cause you to think differently about how you approach life and perhaps choose a new path which provides you with greater well-being, satisfaction with your journey and the peace you find in the process.

Is happiness a pursuit or a destination? Or rather, is happiness a state of being or is it instead a fleeting concept that comes and goes, often unexpectedly? Where is happiness found? Or for some, where does it retreat and hide? Can uncertainty in life fuel happiness? Or instead, keep it at bay? We explore these questions and a few others on Episode 2, Where Does Happiness Reside? We try to get at a few answers on happiness. Whether or not we were successful in this endeavor remains unclear. However, we did get to a few revelations. Whether answers or insight, it makes for a good discussion and one we hope you enjoy this episode and can put what you hear work in some way in your own life.We are working hard on the learning curve on this podcasting thing and getting better. Episode two quality is 100% better than Episode 1 due to the investment in a bonafide studio, solid top level equipment, producer and a mixing board I have not yet mastered but promise to before Episode 3. Till then, overlook our audio editing weaknesses and you will find that Karma rewards you for your grace.Till next time,Peace.

The Climb is a shorter podcast that The Chosen Path does from time to time. This episode happens to be The Chosen Path’s inaugural episode. This episode covers how and why we often repeat yesterday’s patterns and get stuck, and how to break free of this un-virtuous cycle. In this episode of The Climb, I unpack how this podcast came to be through a period that was very much a dark night of the soul. I also go into why we chose to name the shorter episodes ‘The Climb’, so we cover a lot in 30 minutes. This episode is sans-guests. Since it was our first one, we decided that it would be best to set the stage for what’s to come, as well as give our listeners a taste of the kind of subjects and the general approach we take to the topics we tackle.Parental advisory. There are a few salty words used in this podcast. Just a few, used sparingly and carefully to add a bit of zest to what is being served up. A bit like Turmeric I think.
