The Summer League play this year has been so exciting. In this episode, we start by going over all of the rookies that have played in Summer League so far, and what our thoughts are on all of them. There have been some very impressive performances by some Second Year players, most notably Jabari Smith Jr, and we highlight some of our favorites of those as well. The In-Season tournament is official, and we are both very interested in how the NBA will market this and what the overall reactions will be from the players and from casual fans. Finally, we talk about Damian Lillard. This situation could have been handled so cleanly, but instead the kind of moves from Dame and his agent that will certainly sour his reputation going forward. I think the Blazers organization will cave eventually and send Dame to Miami, but the waiting game that is coming will not be fun. Enjoy!

The Big Waves of Free Agency have all passed and a lot of teams made big moves. In this episode, we go through and talk about some of our most favorite and least favorite moves by each of the big players in this year's free agency. We have some big disagreements about the Magic, who could have made big free agency moves but chose not to. Some teams, like the Suns and Mavs, took big steps in improving their depth, and then there's the Rockets. Fred Vanfleet and Dillon Brooks getting $210 million over the next few years, the Rockets have a very interesting lineup going in to next season. Enjoy!

The NBA Draft is one of our favorite parts of the NBA Season. We've spent a lot of time over the past researching these prospects and building our own mock drafts, and last night was the night of the draft. In this episode, we review all of the first-round picks of this draft and all of the notable second-rounders. There are some picks that we disagree on like Anthony Black at 6 and Bilal Coulibaly at 7, but for the most part we are pretty happy with most of the decisions made by teams last night. If you are interested in more draft content, there is more over on the TikTok @doubledoublepod. Enjoy!

The NBA Draft is only two days away, and we have finally reached a point where we're comfortable with our mock draft and our predictions for the 2023 NBA Draft. We have spent plenty of time talking about the top 3 picks in earlier episodes, so today we spent more on some of the lesser-discussed names. There are some important players in this class, Coulibaly and Bufkin among the top, that we didn't discuss enough in previous episodes. Every year, there are players picked after the lottery that will end up being productive players, and we have plenty of predictions for who those players could be. We will be back with a review for the draft Friday Morning, so stay tuned for that! Enjoy!

Nikola Jokic had one of the best post season runs we have ever seen in this year’s playoffs, and it ended with his First Finals MVP and The Denver Nuggets first championship as a franchise. The team is built around Jokic perfectly, and the offense they ran through these playoffs had no weaknesses. Jimmy Butler and the Heat fought very well to get to the finals, and their future as they try to remain a top tier team will be very interesting to follow. The Pelicans are reportedly trying to trade with the Hornets or Blazers to get Scoot Henderson, which would be must watch tv if they could pull it off. Enjoy!

The Finals are Tied! Denver lost their first home game since March 30th as the Miami Heat put together the best fourth quarter performance they've had all year. Jokic has had no trouble scoring in the games where defense tightens up on the rest of his team, but the Nuggets have not found success through Jokic's monster scoring alone. They are 0-3 in these playoffs in games where Jokic has 40+ pts, which is certainly usual for a team's best player. Across the NBA, major coaching changes have been made to some big teams. Monty Williams, Frank Vogel, and Nick Nurse are all coaching new teams, and the Bucks have replaced Mike Budenholzer with a rookie head coach in Adrian Griffin. Damian Lillard has been discussing "hypotheticals" about where he could be traded from the Blazers, with Miami as the top destination. Portland is in a really interesting situation this offseason, and the trade deals that they make could impact their future for quite a long time. Enjoy!

The Boston Celtics became the 4th team in NBA history to force a game 7 after being down 3-0, but failed to close out the series and will be watching the Finals from home this year. There were probably going to be major changes coming to the organization if they had been swept by Miami, but after the game 7 loss, it seems like the team will be pretty comfortable running it back next year. Miami advances to the Finals for the second time in 4 years and should be seen as big-time underdogs going into this series. Denver has an offense that has been impossible to stop so far, and Miami's 3 point shooting streak will undoubtedly be put to the test in this series. We both predict the Nuggets winning this series, but we expect the games to be incredibly entertaining to watch. We will be back with more content as the Finals begin. Enjoy!

With the draft lottery being announced, we put together our First Draft for this year's NBA Draft. This includes every pick in the first round, with some opinion about why that player might belong at that spot and what he brings to the NBA. There are some teams that are likely to be moving their pick, like Portland, but in the odds that they do decide to draft a player, we give some thoughts about who they should take. We've agreed on our lottery picks for some time, but the end of the first is likely to change as the draft comes closer. Enjoy!

The Conference Finals have not gone the way almost anyone would have been able to expect. The Denver Nuggets have been a great team all season, but a 3-0 lead is definitely unexpected especially given AD's 29/14 averages through these first 3 games. The Nuggets have played incredibly as a team, and Jamal Murray is showing the league the ceiling he can hit in the playoffs. In the East, the Heat have surprised the world by taking a 3-0 lead over Boston, who look demoralized and without an answer for the Heat role players. Jimmy Butler had an excellent game 1, but the play of their undrafted players has been incredible, and they have beaten the Celtics handily as a team. The future of the Celtics seems a bit less certain, as the Jays will be set to be paid a combined $600 million in their next supermax contracts. The Heat and Nuggets will be a very entertaining NBA Finals despite the conversation that's been had about poor ratings. These teams are excellently run and the way they play the game is just fun to watch. We will be back with more playoff content as these series get wrapped up. Enjoy!

The draft order for this year's NBA Draft was announced last night, and the San Antonio Spurs were the lucky team this year to receive the #1 pick and the rights to draft Victor Wembanyama. The Pistons were the biggest loser of this draft process, sinking all the way to the 5th pick despite their record in the regular season. The Blazers are interested in moving their #3 pick in order to get older talent that can compete around Dame, so we will be watching to see which teams are most interested. The Western Conference kicked off last night with an excellent big man battle that ultimately ended with the Denver Nuggets winning 132 - 126. This series will be incredible to watch from start to finish, and it will be really interesting to see how the Nuggets respond to the adjustment made to get AD off of Jokic. Heat vs Celtics begins tonight, and we give our thoughts on what to expect from that series. We will be back with more conference finals content as these series progress. Enjoy!
