Against the current. Against the grain. Standing when everyone else is sitting. Running while everyone is walking. Marching to the beat of our own drum. These all describe people who are different. People who don’t fit in. As Christians that is what God wants us to be. The kingdom of God is different from this world. 

This world says get get get no matter the cost. And the Kingdom of God says give give give because Jesus paid the ultimate cost. This world says to look out for you and then everyone else. The Kingdom of God says to look out for others first and then yourself. Our Kingdom has a different standard - With a King who desires to be a defender for His people.

The principal's office is where I was quite often. Don’t judge me! As a kid were you ever called to the principal's office? Imagine that, but the principal had the authority in the eyes of everyone to kill you if you did wrong in their eyes. Extreme?!?! Right. That is what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced in Babylon in Daniel chapter 3.
