Great series
Thank you for putting out this series despite not being inherently a podcaster or radio man. It was a great walk through the true personas of the culprits behind this heinous crime. Really great stuff!

Thank You
Just discovered this very rare podcast that examines the commonly repeated, lazy falsehood about “Satanic Panic” in relation to the WM3. That NYT reporter should be fired for misspelling a victim’s name — and you are correct that May 5 1993 was NOT “the mid 90’s.” These hacks are grossly ignorant and worse — incurious about the time when they were born en masse (perhaps not uncoincidentally?)

Guilty
Of course they’re guilty.

There might be a little dust on this podcast but open inside
This is for hardcore TC and/or West Memphis 3 fans only ! Dont expect a high quality production but If you are interested in the west memphis 3 case it’s a must listen. An in-depth and a deep dive into the guilt of the 3 that were convicted. If you get past the loud crickets in the background, long pauses and coughing fits- you’ll find a treasure trove of information inside . Gary is an author with a wealth of knowledge that just needs help editing his podcast- you might miss a gem if you get caught up in the quality and not focus on the real meat of this story. i learned a lot of new information and i thought I had heard it all on this case.

Great Show Review Bombed by WM3 Fans
The host is an encyclopedia of knowledge about the case. Did the truth upset some listeners?

Irresponsible & biased views
Listened to this on the chance I could get more information on the WM3 case, but it comes off extremely biased and doesn’t address a lot evidence and facts that were presented during/after the trials. And I will agree with other reviewers…the coughing and long pauses were making it hard to listen to as well.

Ridiculous
Get your facts straight.

Very factual
Gary is perhaps the foremost expert on this case, has a exhaustive understanding of all the interviews and evidence (yes, lots of evidence) and understands how each witness and interviewee connects to the others. If you listen long enough, you feel like you’re there in the first months of 1993 as the scene before and after the murders is stitched together through police interrogations. I was happy to find the entire list here, many of these episodes aren’t on YouTube.

Trainwreck from content to production
I listened to this on Spotify, and felt compelled to rate this podcast here, too. Meece’s contempt for defendants and tendency to believe anything and everything law enforcement does/says is gospel is very offputting and casts a shadow over anything else he says. Coming from a listener who doesn’t automatically fall on the side of every defendant, this podcast is so incredibly biased it makes it next to impossible to take it seriously. The host complains almost incessantly about documentarians’ and journalists’ biases, yet seems completely blind to his own. It feels as though he takes the very possibility of someone’s innocence as a personal affront. He is either unwilling or incapable of considering that any part of the defense’s stories may be true, yet blindly backs up the prosecution. Hearing him completely reject the racial aspects of the case against Nick Hillary made me physically cringe. The lack of self-awareness in regards to his own racism (he spends a while talking about “black on black crime” and “the race card” as if that’s evidence against Hillary’s innocence) is astounding. From a production standpoint, this podcast is a tough listen. Cricket sounds running throughout each episode as well as consistent coughing and water breaks are distracting, and you need all the attention you can get to pay attention to his delivery.

A different perspective
Yeah the editing is horrendous (cough, long pauses) and yeah pretty monotone boring voice but I’m hanging in and staying busy while I listen to a very different perspective and learning new things about the case I never realized how mentally ill DE is. I go back and forth with guilt or innocence. I think he is wrong about the mutilization for sure that was animal activity.

Facts matter
I really wanted to hear this case from another perspective, but this account boggles the mind. If this person is actually a reporter, they should’ve been fired years ago. There is such obvious fact versus speculative rumor and this Podcaster doesn’t care to differentiate between the two. lazy work.

Beyond unprofessional
I am trying to hear all sides of this case, so I decided to listen. I am trying to push through. The throat clearing is incredibly distracting, but the sneezes and coughs are literally deafening. No warning, no editing, no moving away from the microphone, clearly. It never occurs to this guy that those sneezes and coughs will literally sound like a bomb going off in our ears. As far as content goes, he loves to allow the other “accused” people to use stress, anxiety and time passed as an excuse to not remember everything perfectly. Does that not apply to the 3 who served 18 years for these crimes? When their stories “didn’t add up,” this “podcaster” calls that guilty, but when a step father can’t remember the events of the night, it’s totally ok because stress! Please. This guy should’ve learned how to edit at a minimum before hitting post on any of these episodes. I want to hear both sides, but this is impossible to listen to. The bias is embarrassing. Definitely part of the prosecution fan club!

Part of the Problem
No DNA found from the 3. He (podcaster) appears to be part of a Northeast AR group that most likely have connections to those whom were involved in the case, on the prosecuting side. Those, whom would never admit they were wrong. By the Judges own mouth: A good portion of the case is circumstantial, it’s up to the prosecution to prove motive. Well, let’s just get an “expert” to “prove” it was satanic. Such a bogus trial. Blows my mind anyone still thinks the WM3 was involved.

Ol’ Gary has an axe to grind…I’m okay with that
So far there’s no explosive bombshells, just solid info and a ton of hate for the three. Gary goes deep on the facts and lands solid blows. As the entire media apparatus makes these guys out to be the Arkansas Nelson Mandelas someone needed to say that there’s more to the story that you should at least consider.

The True Facts!!!
This is the real story. Not that trash HBO had us all programmed to believe. Keep an open mind and listen to the facts. Not the facts as presented by Damien Echols. I’ll give Gary a break here cause he’s not a podcaster by trade. Just a great presentation of facts. See a ton of WM3 supporters and sheepeels have down voted this. Truth hurt huh!

Don’t let the WM3 supporters sway you with their conspiracy theories
There are very few people who know this case any better. Don’t let the WM3 supporters sway you with their crummy reviews, Meece states the facts of the case as presented in court documents, while also refuting the conspiracy theory nonsense that has been spewed since the (admittedly) biased films were made by presenting West Memphis as it actually is, from the perspective of someone who has lived and worked there longer than the 3 killers have been alive.

Educate yourself.
So. I did not like this podcast at first I’m not even going to lie but I also thought the three were innocent this whole time because I let my confirmation bias get in the way. Yes, he isn’t a professional podcaster. If it bothers you then just simply don’t listen. All he is trying to do here is point out the lies told by supporters that most of us have fell accustomed to believe, me included for the longest time. Meanwhile, everyone and their moms who gave this podcast a one star has done nothing but bash him & spit out factually incorrect information. He is tired of the propaganda on this case & he’s expressing why that is. He has done more research on this case than any of y’all have ever done research on anything in y’all’s entire lives & I mean that with my whole chest. He does admit when things don’t add up & that’s more than any of y’all could ever do when it comes to arguing this case. Also, for those who believe there is “zero” evidence against the 3… read even just a sentence of the case files & you will be proven wrong. Stop being ignorant & go take a look at the case files for yourselves.

Boring
The Guy definitely has an agenda. It’s hard to get over him clearing his throat the entire time. Really not even worth the listen in my opinion.

Goodbye to my hearing and this podcast
I want to preface this review by stating that I believe with every fiber of my being that the WM3 are innocent. However, I wanted to hear the other side of the story since their innocence is what is shown in media. But this podcast is so incredibly bias that it’s nauseating. It’s basically one man’s opinion of what happened. Gary Meece provides little sources so it’s not clear what is fact vs what is in this man’s prejudice brain. If Gary could get past his intense hatred for Damien and Jason (and Bob Ruff), maybe he could see some of the injustice that occurred. Finally, I feel bad for this guy and his cough, but I literally think I ruptured an ear drum while listening to it in my car.

Don’t let curiosity get to you
Besides the fact that I think the author of this podcast is absolutely brain dead, and doesn’t know what he’s talking about, I still wanted to give it a shot, because though I know the west Memphis three are innocent, because… FACTS, & EVIDENCE. I still like to hear all sides, but I couldn’t get past the first episode. Thank God for the sake of mankind this podcast hasn’t released anything in 3 years. Forensics have determined the bite marks, and possibly the castration were from an animal in the water, but I would give this zero stars if the app was let me unfortunately it does not

Refreshing and thorough
Listen at 1.5 speed and you will enjoy Gary Meece’s eye-opening presentation. No, he doesn’t really dive deeply into the arguments of the supporters of the Three, but he gives an admittedly biased refutation of the prevailing narrative.

Get over yourself
I’ve always wanted to get into the facts of this case (because I think they probably are guilty), but this guy’s insistence that there is some kind of evil agenda against the poor oppressed (being sarcastic here) white southern Christians makes it impossible to listen to him. Also his constant gross swallowing noises are ever present. Unlistenable. Get over your racist, southern boy hangups and maybe people wouldn’t hate your podcast so much.

Drop bias and cough
This is interesting information and I’ve often wondered about the guilt here of WM3…however when you start talking “ north east liberal bias “ you start to lose me AND you make the exact same mistake you are saying others made in judging southern people. I don’t typically agree with right wing anything, yet I find this information interesting. Don’t rely on your own bias. Also- edit- the coughing is unbearable.

Don’t listen to this while driving
This host puts it out there right from the get-go that he’s biased toward guilt of the WM3, which in itself is interesting if you have compelling information. Unfortunately this guy just drones on and on, barely coherent. I fell asleep in the first five minutes.

Please, please edit your content
Jesus Christ on a cracker. The coughing is so distracting (and disgusting) I can’t focus on anything you are saying. I even agree with your point of view, but the delivery of this podcast is excruciating.
ItsJustMe00
Slow
Makes some interesting points, and made me reconsider the innocence of the WM3. But the host seems personally biased in the way he approaches information. This podcast also needs editing. The stream-of-consciousness narration style has too many long pauses and repetitive topics.

Horrible. Can barely string a sentence together. So terribly bias. Just poorly done.

Truth
It’s crazy how people can look over this evidence that is presented in this podcast and say this guy is biased. He must hate metal music too I guess

This is awful.
Wonder if this guy has really investigated the case at all. Spout of a bunch of lies. Terrible podcast!

I tried
But I can’t get past your blatant biases and willingness to twist the truth into whatever you want to make it to fit your story.
troof501
Very biased
Very biased toward guilt.. paying little to no attention to the facts that point to innocence/reasonable doubt in this case.. not to mention very sketchy police work/interrogation techniques. Not sure of guilt or innocence.. but you cannot deny both sides can be argued.

Unsure
I like listening to people with a deep knowledge of cases. I listened to the part about the Central Park 5 and realize this is a different case. To hear someone say that no pity should be shown to these guys because “they could have killed someone that night” is ridiculous. To be fair, you should read the names of every drunk driver in history because they could have killed just as easy. Drunk driving is purely selfish and I fail to see how these guys “deserve” what happened to them is sad. It shows a deep bias in the writer.

Horrific Editing
I figured I’d give this podcast a shot, having listened to Bob Ruff’s take on the WM3 case. The editing is absolutely horrible, making it pretty much unlistenable. The content is meh at best because it’s mainly opinions. My feelings on the case haven’t changed: test all the evidence once and for all and let’s find out. Double jeopardy will prevent the prosecution from re-trying the 3.

Information You Never Hear
Truly the deepest dive into the WM3. So much info that I’ve never heard. Podcast production is lacking, however the facts are not. Listen to on 1.5X speed and it becomes instantly more listenable. Very fascinating how much of the story was not publicized.

Best podcast to prove the WM3 are innocent… yikes.
Aside from the painfully awful quality, this podcast is anything but factual. Once you suffer through the coughing and smacking, you hear opinions based on supposed “evidence.” He brushes off witnesses for the defense as non credible due to variances in stories, but praises state’s witnesses for being credible even though their testimonies changed as well. He mocks mental health illnesses, argues over semantics (1994 is hardly mid 90s he says), and denies the absolute reality of the satanic panic era in the United States. Most podcasts will have bias, but this is the most unprofessional level of bias I’ve heard. Rarely cites information if at all. Full of speculation, mockery, and clearly zero understanding of psychological and sociological functions in violent crimes. I would be embarrassed to recommend this to anyone. I was on the fence about the WM3 being innocent or guilty, but this has me really considering they may actually be innocent. Especially if this guy is “the best” and “most knowledgeable” out there for those who believe the WM3 are guilty. Gahhh.

The best podcast about WM3
Thanks to the host, I read his book about WM3, and I think he is the most knowledgeable person about this gruesome monstrous crime where 3 young boys tortured, mutilated and killed and their bodies thrown to a ravine.
Ahmedbright
But will you believe soon?
Poorly done. Ignores far too much to fit his own, weirdly obsessive narrative. Can’t wait until the newly found ROOM FULL of evidence gets tested, TH ends up in the spotlight, and this entire podcast turns out to be wildly fictitious.
Mary62072
Excellent info
The guy wrote several books on the subject at hand. If you’re interested in the subject, this is important stuff. The one star reviews are not from legit listeners.

Needs structure, editing and some self-reflection
I was excited at the concept of the podcast, especially in long form. Unfortunately, the host doesn’t know how to present content in a clear and concise way. He gets so wrapped up in random criticisms about pretty much everyone and everything- can 1993-1994 really be considered the mid-90’s, listeners need to know! He also doesn’t edit audio at all (audacity is free, give it a try), leaving us all to enjoy his drinking, swallowing and near constant coughing. Honestly, there could be some decent points buried in this garbage but it’s really hard to get through (I’ve made many attempts to continue).

Does not feel like a real podcast
No editing, no emotion, presented in a slow boring way.

Facts.
If you actually want the facts and evidence of this case it’s all here laid out for you. Nothing fancy, just facts. If you’re shackled to the false narrative spun by the Paradise Lost films and are not an independent thinker (like all who have left negative reviews here) then this is not for you.
getyourheadoutofyourkiester
Meh it’s decent
Yeah the guy is biased but everyone is biased and he is honest about it. It’s not the most professional podcast but there are no adds. I am about 60 episodes in and I am not sure I am convinced either way. But there is a lot of information there and I respect that he is making an argument that goes against the grain. He has a calm voice that makes it easy to listen too. I donno, it’s not for everyone.

Garbage
This guy is so biased I had to stop listening. He runs down everything about these guys, even what they’ve done with their lives since being freed. I don’t believe they are guilty and the fact that they were freed confirms that. Now all the missing evidence from a “fire”….. a fire that didn’t happen as confirmed by the fire dept…A true deep dive has to give facts on both sides, not just a biased opinion

Terrible podcast; boomer reads his own book, coughs
Gary Meece is a risible figure who is obsessed with Damien of the WM3, and Meece always excuses the West Memphis Arkansas police and prosecution. Recently the WM police have outrageously claimed to have lost critical evidence; at this point the DOJ could get involved as the WMP blatantly violated Arkansas state law (and for what ends?). Yet Meece acts like this is acceptable — he states dismissively “things happen” — it is absolutely not acceptable according to Arkansas state law. In addition, there was no fire Mr. Meece — the podcaster you hate so much got the records from the fire dept going back to 2005, and NO such fire was ever documented or reported. And yes, the WMP was bound by state law AND the conditions of the Alford Plea to inform the defense if any evidence was lost or destroyed. Ever. Period. Mr. Meece thinks it’s okay for the police to lose evidence; these are “trifling matters.” Think about the implications of such a statement. In Meece’s very troubled mind Damien somehow made the evidence disappear so he could “cash in” — Meece doesn’t care about possible police corruption, which WM3 supporters have been pointing out for years (alleged corruption). And no, Mr. Meece, OJ is not petitioning for mvac dna testing of any of the evidence in his case…see the difference?! Mr. Meece, your dismissal of new dna testing reveals your age and lack of knowledge, and preserving ALL evidence was a condition of the Alford Plea. If they lost this evidence, the WM3 can sue them. Terrible podcast which consists of a boomer reading from books he tries to sell on Amazon unsuccessfully.

Wow, what a
I think if you look at the law the west Memphis 3 don’t have to prove their innocence, it’s for the state to find the killer(s) and prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. That’s why we have a justice system and the process In which they were legally released. You really have no basis of reality past your own hate of these three. Just a whole lotta anger, with blinders on…stop before you start down this crappy podcast.
