I love this podcast to death
I love this podcast to death, if only out of sheer nostalgia. This show is a blast from the past. It so well encapsulates the mid 2010s; it feels like I dug a time capsule from the bows of 2016 tumblr. It has a genuinely intriguing plot and the acting is phenomenal but I sometimes question certain one off writing decisions. A good portion of the jokes land but there are some that just don’t read the same today. At some point a character says, “Accio best friends in the world!” and I think a little part of me died. The big picture of the plot is amazing and totally makes up for certain questionable writing decisions

Love love this podcast
This podcast is for people who like immersive, well written “light” SF. The voice acting is superb. The storyline is presented in such a way to invite the listener to deduce bit by bit what is going on. It’s one to savor, not to rush through. The are many layers to enjoy.

Just… SO good!
I’m on season 4 and absolutely hooked. Well acted, well written, and chock-full of really complex and interesting characters and big mental health topics that are handled really well.

We love it!!
My partner and I enjoy this show so much, we always listen on long trips…only one downside… if you’re listening to it in the car, it’s not high/low balanced. People will talk so softly you have to crank up the volume to understand them (Frank especially or sad moments) and then someone will speak up and my god my ears feel like they are rupturing… some audio mixing updates and it’s PERFECT.

Like Fringe as an audio drama
I have always been interested in strange science and parapsychology. This podcast is amazing. It did start a little slow, but didn't take long to hook me.

a world that draws you in
Love this podcast. I hope future spinoffs occur. I’d really like to learn more about The Order, and people like Sadie. The world Lauren Shippen has made is compelling and will draw listeners in. I’m sad that it’s finished but glad to know there’s books so will try to get my hands on them.

Great Listening Pleasure
When it first started, I was ready to roll my eyes and find another podcast. I AM SO GLAD I STUCK AROUND!! Love this show! When I tell you I was yelling at Damien during the Mark episode (s4 e8 or e9?). He said your words matter. Apologize and SHOW that you are truly sorry. I mean what? “After awhile you’ll forget you were ever mad at me.” I lost it. Well written. Well. Written.

Confusion (episode sorting)
I really love this show and the characters but… I think there’s something wrong with the episode sort. There’s random episodes anywhere and the show is missing a lot of them. I went from session one with Chloe and Sam to session nine with Caleb and it’s rlly confusing
Saturation extended
Forced politics
What would be a pretty good story gets completely ruined by their forced politics.

Obsessed
I love this podcast! It’s so well written and the storyline is gripping. Lauren Shippen is a genius.

Theme songs all ripped?
Like the show but I noticed that every theme song sounds exactly like another shows theme….The Black Tapes and The White Vault don’t deserve their music stolen???

Love this show (as a Psych major)
Honestly I love listening to this show and as a psych major who is practicing counseling psychology it is wonderful to see (hear) techniques I actually learned used during the show. Not to mention the intrigue of the story is great. The characters are well developed that even though you only get limited interactions it feels like they are far more filled out than we even get to see. The show is definitely a must listen to and something you can’t put down once you start.

Great stuff!
I’m listening to this with my pre-teens and it’s great. Safe and fun for them (if you don’t mind a little cussing) and interesting enough for me. It’s hard to find shows that meet those both needs.

Again??
Another “woke” podcast with confused gender role suggestion and light grooming. Disappointing.

I’m hooked!
I ran out of my normal podcast and wanted to listen to something different and came across this one and I’ve been hooked since! Funny at times and really intriguing…has kept a hold of me.

Amazing and somewhat flawed
Loved it. The sessions, especially the patients’ first ones with Dr. Bright, felt like real conversations. I absolutely loved the AM archives, and the college tapes was great as well. I liked the detail **moderate spoilers for any listeners not this far yet: in which the intro song gets more and more distorted as the crisis drags on in each episode** end spoiler. However, the bickering between those two particular people in season 7 got a bit repetitive. A great audio show nonetheless.

Life changing
I never thought I’d find a podcast as good as Welcome to Nightvale. The Bright Sessions holds its own, and more. If you’re mentally ill, queer, and/or strange, you have found the show that gets you.

A classic for a reason
Lauren shipper is literally a genius. Even when I hate this show I love this show. It also demonstrates mental health in a really interesting way. If you wanna get into audio fiction this is a good place to stsrt

Good but…
Very good podcast, but in season 7 the drama of Caleb goes on and on and on. Grow up Caleb and put your big boy pants on OMG. Too much of it. Move on

Amazing 11/10
I know I'm incredibly late but I love this podcast. Amazing depictions of depression and anxiety, trauma, addiction, and anger issues. I love Caleb and Adam with all my heart. I just really don't like Damien (I think that’s kinda the point tho) . This podcast has made me laugh and cry. I wish there was more of but everything good must come to an end. I don't understand how you can not like this podcast. It's amazing and it also has queer characters. A lot at that. As someone who has depression, I rarely see characters with depression represented as well as they are in this podcast. None of the characters are all good or all bad, they all have flaws and talents. If you are thinking about starting the show DO!!!! I LITERALLY LOOOOVVVEE IT

Love this show…
I started listening to this show from the very beginning and fell in love instantly. I couldn’t stop. I was hooked. Then I got sad because it stopped for about got excited that there were more. This College Tape session could be good but two things: 1. I miss Dr. Bright. 2. Caleb and Adam bit is sooooo draining. All they do is fight. Scream. Drama. It’s too much. I want to skip episodes but I also don’t want to miss out on other things. Aside from Caleb and Adam drama, this show is amazing.

Love it, but…
Began with the Bright Sessions and fell down the rabbit hole. The writing was great until the College tapes. The story was secondary to the forever, never ending relationship non-drama drama with Caleb & Adam. I was turned off by the conversation episodes, they dragged on. Otherwise, I would recommend.

Hooked once again!
I started off with listening to Look Up, which immediately had me hooked and was just amazing! I’m currently on season 2 of The Bright Sessions, and I am finding myself feeling the same way about this show. The voice actors are the best! So excited to hear the rest of it! Highly recommend!

Amazing
I first started with the AM Archives, not realizing every season was connected. I loved that season so much that I went back to episode 1 and listened to all of them, including re-listening to the AM Archives. I’m always left with wanting more. Amazing characters and story, and the musical episode was incredibly emotional. Update: I just listened to the last episode not knowing it was the last one. I’m sad that it’s ended, but I am so happy I got to listen to all of them. I’m currently reading the first of the three books, so luckily it’s not completely over yet!

Great show!!
I have absolutely loved this show from start to end! I am so sad it’s ending. I looked forward to it every week for years, although it wrapped up so well. Give the plot time to develop I promise you will be hooked!

Incredible Acting
MY FAVORITE FICTION PODCAST. This truly is the best voice acting I have ever heard. It’s unreal. The second to last episode of the college tapes almost had me in tears 🥺 Love the plot, love the quality, writing is incredible but it’s the actors that sell the story and bring life to the characters. I am not ready to say goodbye to them!!! Update: listened to the last episode and got teary. Not ready to say goodbye to my favorite fiction couple of all time. But happy to know they are out there in their fictional world, living life together 🥲

Give it time
I got to know about bright sessions on an anthology podcast (the program; another 5 star podcast). Coming off a fast paced series, **it took me a bit of time** to get used to bright sessions, especially because for some reason I didn’t know the whole story is kinda sci-fi, and thought that I was listening to normal people speaking on therapy sessions. This actually added to the intrigue of the mark arc. Love the show. Definitely suggest it.

First season absolutely amazing! College tapes.. not so much.
For me, this podcast went from government Area 51, superpowered villains and hero’s, to a college soap opera. I get they want to bring metal health awareness, but it feels every character is constantly in a mental crisis.

So good!
I’m new to fiction podcasts- I’m more of an investigative reporting listener. This podcast has swallowed me whole. Took a chance yesterday- randomly clicking on episode 1- and haven’t been able to stop since. Great story- with fully developing characters - great voice actors. I now totally get how radio dramas were such a huge deal in my parent’s generation. I highly recommend this amazing podcast! If you are looking to binge- treat yourself to this one!

This show has massive psychic impact. It will creep up on you. Deceptively simple in form. The writing and acting has space to shine. Super creative!

Best Podcast I’ve Ever Listened To
First of all, the voice acting in this show is amazing. The actors perfectly portray these characters even without you ever seeing their faces. The emotion in the voices is enough. Second, the story that these people have created is incredible. Without spoilers, these characters go through emotional journeys that feel so real while also following an amazing and adventurous plot that I know we’re all looking for. I was totally absorbed in this story from the very first episode. Another wonderful bonus is the LGBTQ+ representation. It is executed perfectly. None of it is forced representation and the relationship is treated the same as any other, with their ups and downs with plenty of happy moments. In regards to that, this show has fantastically developed relationships. The friendships between characters are well thought out and realistic, the romance is wholesome and not overdone. All in all, the romance aspect is very well balanced. Listen to this show! You’ll love it!

I’m so invested
I started listening to the podcast yesterday and you can bet I’m not going to sleep much until I get through this backlog. Currently on ep 7 of season 2 smiling like a lunatic in my middle of my office trying not to audibly scream.

Was great... now I just tune in to see if anyone finishes a sentence.
OK, to be fair, I started out LOVING this show. It was fascinating and introduced us to a new unusual world. Now it's a big long propoganda piece on political correctness where everyone has a screwed up relationship and no one can finish a sentence. Doesn't anyone just tell compelling stories nowadays without shoving an agenda down the audience's throat? I've starte to HATE listen in gleeful anticipation that it will soon end. Here's hoping.
