I thoroughly enjoyed Robbie Simpson’s interview with Michael Radner, Artistic Director of The Cape Cod Playhouse. The questions that Robbie posed elicited the essence of who Michael is as a person and as a professional. During this interview Michael was shared great advice about a multitude of aspects about the theater. He focuses on the importance of energy displayed by a person during their audition. Michael is authentic, confident, and yet humble. He talks about how important it is for everyone involved in teach production to be “Servants of the Heart”, and to remain true to what the author wants to say. Preparation and being emotionally connected with the material for an audition is crucial to success. And lastly, Michal says don’t apologize when auditioning. The interview was insightful, interesting, and very useful for anyone wanting to make a career of the theater.
