We continue our series discussing Covenant Theology and Dispensationalism. Of course, I’m not an expert by any means. But the goal of this series is to talk about two different perspectives and leaning on the wisdom of others to help grow us in our knowledge of God, ourselves, and the Bible.

The struggle is real. We all struggle with things in life. As Christians we are to delight in the Lord and to rejoice in His Word. But what if we don’t? Brother or sister, take heart. We’re praying for you. And hope this prayer encourages you.

I thought I had the answers… until I didn’t. I read many books of one camp, all the while neglecting those of the opposing camp. Praise be to God that I was called out by a fellow brother in Christ.

In some circles, assurance of faith can ebb and flow with the strength or weakness of our emotions, but if we are born again we have FULL assurance of faith. In other circles, the consistent inward examination of the Christian's life can place heavy chains upon the soul. No matter what circle you find yourself in, you must look to God's Word as a basis for our your salvation. We look to Christ's finished work; His faithfulness, not ours.
