From Life to Legacy: The Story of Richard I. Bong
In this episode, Hailey shares the story of Major Richard I. Bong–the aces of aces–from his life to legacy. Richard I. Bong’s story all began in the small town of Superior, situated in Northern Wisconsin. Hailey explains that Richard worked on the Bong Family Farm, where he watched military planes fly overhead to the Summer White House, delivering mail to President Coolige while he visited for many fishing excursions. Richard quickly became fascinated and dedicated his life to serve in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. Returning from war, Bong was recognized as America’s top-flying ace. In remembrance of Richard’s notorious and noble service, Superior opened the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center. It’s here that his legacy will forever live on.

Chillin’ Out in Wisconsin: Barron, Menomonie, Sauk County & Land O’Lakes
In this episode, Hailey explores four communities of Wisconsin during the chilly fall and winter seasons. Guiding the exploration, she leads you to Barron, Menomonie, Sauk County and Land O’ Lakes. Last but certainly not least, Hailey heads up North to Land O’ Lakes, where the thrill is on at the Radar Runs! After a day of snowmobile adventures, you’ll want to cozy up one of the local hotspots, like Bent’s Camp Bar & Restaurant.

The Story of Hurley: Connecting Trails to the Community
In this episode, Hailey dives into the story of Hurley, including the community and its interwoven trail system. Hurley is tucked in Iron County–the snow capital of Wisconsin–and it surely lives up to its title. But the snow has never stopped the community from getting outside and connecting with one another by trail. Hurley continues to add on to their rich history by grooming trails, providing trails for visitors and locals alike to explore, and captures the heart of the community downtown. An integral part of Hurley’s history is the White Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club, and their grooming traditions, which are now being passed down to the next generation. Because of their grooming efforts, Hurley has over 300 funded miles of snowmobile trails for everyone to enjoy. The best part? They all connect to the local businesses at the heart of the community. A few local gems are Sharon’s Coffee Company and the notorious Iron Nugget.
