Catherine Churchman is a Lecturer in the Asian Studies Programme at Victoria University in Wellington. Although her teaching doesn't require her to speak other languages, her personal interest in linguistics has seen her learn Finnish, Estonian, Maori, Hokkien and many more.

She spent a few years studying in Israel and is now back in New Zealand. She has some really good ideas on how to keep your second or third language fresh.
