I was so excited to discover this podcast until I was blissfully walking along on a spring day, listening to the podcast about simplifying your life and Mike said that he would no longer fly coach because he didn’t want to sit next to someone who is obese. I was stunned and felt like I’d been punched in the gut. Even though I am viewed as slender in our culture, I was offended by the blatant fat shaming and elitism. I thought this show was about more than this. I’m also stunned that this comment wasn’t at least edited out. What was the most surprising to me is that someone like Gay Hendricks has him for a cohost to what appears to be a show that has a strong spiritual side to it. I’m torn about whether I should continue listening or not.

I’ve been listening to this podcast for a while. I have read many of Gay’s books and am a big fan. His work has been life-changing for me. BUT I just listened to the episode about Radical Simplicity. Mike, really? There are a lot of downsides to flying coach. But you chose to call out obese people as ruining your experience flying coach. That seems dangerously close to fat-shaming. Gee, maybe it even IS fat-shaming. I certainly couldn’t imagine Gay saying something like that, and I’m disappointed to hear you do so.

I stumbled across this gem when I was guided to search for Gay discussing The Big Leap on a podcast. Assuming I was looking for interviews , I was so very excited to find one he hosts to dive into! Divinely lead to the episodes I need most at this time, as per usual! I am truly so grateful for you both sharing so vulnerably and want to say thank you for helping me, and so many others, so very much by doing so!! The magic of listening to that inner voice and enjoying the beautiful messages and synchronicities will never lose the potency of adornment 💫

I mean… Any opportunity to listen to Gay is a treat for me. He is so intelligent and able to communicate his magic.

Came over after hearing your episode on the Love Hour

Maybe not for you either? I keep coming back to this podcast and always wind up turning it off / not finishing. Would love more Guy Hendricks - this cohost Mike, though, is a total bore. Typically middle aged white guy who blathers on, repeats his own stories, thinks they are deeper than they are. And you have to listen to these same stories that are not as funny as he thinks they are (almost always about GM or their executives). It feels less like listening to a motivational podcast & more like being a golf caddy at a club in Michigan, eavesdropping on a mediocre person decrying their genius to their silent, suffering partner (who actually is the genius).

I purchased Gays book the big leap due to Kev and Liss harping about it on their various platforms. I am not that far into it yet, but I just finished listening to his episode on The love hour and learned about this podcast. So much of what I need in my life right now is being spoken and I am here for it all!
