Anxiety is different for each person, but one thing is the same - the body gives clues. On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss the importance of understanding the clues. Most people wait until their anxiety is at a high level, and life doesn’t need to be that difficult.

I’ve been on a mission to change the way the world views mental health for as literally my entire life. And the moment I read Claudia Fernandez-Niedzielski’s chapter in Women Who Illuminate, I knew she shared my passion.
We collaborated and created Faces of Mental Illness - and we’re not done!On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, we share the next book in what has now become a series: Faces of Mental Illness: For Anxiety.
This is more than books, though. It’s our Passion. It’s our Mission. It’s our Movement. And we are not only sharing it with the world, we’re inviting you to join us… in whatever way feels right to you.
Please reach out to [email protected] and [email protected] to learn more if interested.
Thank you for your support! Mental illness impacts many, and most suffer silently. We’re working to change that - because silence makes it worse!
To anyone struggling, please know that you’re not alone. You can reach out to me or 988 anytime for confidential support, resources, or a friendly ear.

It’s not only Mental Health Awareness Month…. Today also kicks off National Mental Health Awareness Week. We’re also in the middle of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, National Women’s Health Week, and National Prevention Week.
That’s a lot of Week’s!
It feels appropriate to discuss things that contribute to our overall mental health. For me - feeling safe, physically and emotionally, is at the top of that list.
That might mean different things to different people, and they all matter because safety is the underlying concern. No matter what anyone else has to say about it.
Some people don’t feel safe in crowds. Others don’t feel safe alone. Both need to be treated with respect, not mocked, ridiculed, or questioned.
On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I get personal. I talk about the areas I don’t feel emotionally safe, as well as the impact this has on me physically.
I discuss physical situations that make me feel unsafe, and the impact that has on me emotionally.
I discuss how to use these clues from your body as your guide - even if you’re the only one, and especially when it definitively wasn’t yoga!

I say this frequently, and I’ll say it again: I don’t take my car to a lawyer and I don’t go to a realtor for legal advice.
Experts are experts for a reason - and YOU get to choose who you work with!
When I found my new doctors office in Fort Collins, I didn’t love my doctor. So I made a change!
One of my clients decided to make an appointment and discuss medication options. Her primary doctor wasn’t available, and when she told me how she was treated and what medication she was prescribed - I nearly lost my mind.
On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss doctors, medication, side effects, bedside manner, and ALL of the frustrations. I talk about why hearing “I Don’t Know” Is A Win and so much more!
Whether you’re dealing with back pain, depression, or your yearly physical - this information applies to you and your loved ones!

Talking about grief makes many people uncomfortable. Tina Fornwald is not one of those people.
On March 11, 2017, life as Tina knew it was destroyed when her husband, Mark, died unexpectedly from a massive heart attack while on vacation.
Mark & Tina were together for thirty-two years, raised two wonderful children into adulthood, traveled the world together, and loved each other unconditionally. In 2015, Tina was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the love of Mark, her children, family, friends, and faith, Tina survived several operations and cancer treatments. Then Mark’s death in 2017, and she had no clue how she would survive in his absence.
Tina took the strength she learned from being raised in Chicago and the warrior mentality from serving in the US Army for twenty-one years to fight the overwhelming devastation of Mark’s death. With her faith, countless therapy sessions, and the support of family and friends, Tina discovered her way and purpose for living. The small daily steps allowed her to keep living and develop her new life.
Tina also began connecting with other widows and widowers to grasp insight and understanding of this challenging journey which became instrumental to her well-being.
Those many conversations were the inspiration for Widowhood Real Talk With Tina. “I’m not a licensed therapist. However, I want to offer other widows and widowers, along with their community, a way to navigate the heart-wrenching sorrow and devastation I experienced. I hope the candid discussions on the podcast, the resources, and the ability to connect with others on this journey bring you hope and encouragement.”

P-SAG : Parents Safety Advocacy Groups.
Sounds like a group for parents, right? Well it’s Colorado, so buckle up for this one.
The P-SAG meetings have been happening WITHOUT parents. And many Denver residents are celebrating as the school board is opening the May 1st meeting doors to parents…
Sort of…
One parent is allowed to attend the meeting.
For 3 minutes.
THREE MINUTES.
180 seconds. What’s happening during the rest of the meeting? What CAN’T they hear and be involved in discussing?
On todays episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I’m fired up as I discuss how to advocate for your student today, tomorrow, and every single day - whether it’s about an academic issue, the transition from high school to college, or safety in these traumatic times.
You. Have. Rights - and you deserve more than 3 minutes - wherever you live!
If you or someone you know needs help or resources, you can always contact 988 or me at 248-730-5544 or [email protected]
You don’t have to work with me directly to reach out. I’ll help you find whatever it is you’re looking for. No one should struggle alone.
