Episode 3: Culturally Responsive Education
In order for schools to achieve all levels of multicultural education, school staff must be able to reflect and identify biases or stereotypes then take steps to change perspectives and modify policies and procedures to reach all students. In terms of discipline, staff must be able to analyze discipline data and recognize the need for a more culturally responsive approach to discipline. Schools must acknowledge the need for an equitable education for all students and ensure that is achieved by providing discipline procedures that include more than exclusionary practices which only furthers the achievement gap in African American males. Cultural Responsiveness: More Than A Social Media Post
Going on a social media platform to identify racial injustice is great, but what you do after you post is what really matters.  Awareness is a place to start, but when and how do we move from awareness to action? This special episode is different from the content you will typically hear from Dawn and Jessica.  This episode addresses the heaviness of racism and doesn't have the same lighthearted nature.  We promise to be back to you soon with our regular content.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/beyondbehavior/support
