Episode 19: Can All-Star Weekend be Fixed?
NBA All-Star Weekend was once again a snooze fest, so the fellas are back to discuss ways, if any, that it can be fixed (7:50-24:15). Then the boys give an update on the loaded Western Conference and how it is one of the deepest years in recent memory (24:17-28:28). Doc Rivers made some interesting comments on his time in Milwaukee so far during the All-Star Break. The boys dive into these comments, as well as talking about the surging Warriors and the Nets firing Jacque Vaughn (28:30-49:00). College Basketball had a crazy week as well, where the boys talk about Arizona losing at home to Wazzu, Rick Pitino making some interesting takes on his St. John's roster and Caitlin Clark breaking the scoring record before talking about a huge change in NIL (49:04-1:15:20). Then to wrap it up Houston has a trivia game that'll make Matt and Ryan question their hoops knowledge (1:15:33). Episode 18: Trade Deadline Recap
The boys are back for another great episode of hoops talk. The trade deadline has come and gone and no major moves were made for the first time in a while. The fellas give their thoughts as to why this is and which teams won the deadline and other teams that should've made more moves (9:55-31:27). Then the boys discuss the Kobe statue that was put up last week and the Western Conference Finals rematch that happened on the same night (31:35-42:00). Then they get into discussing what is going on in Eastern Conference with the 76ers and if any teams really have a chance of catching the Celtics and which teams are going to go after Spencer Dinwiddie. Shockingly Houston was wrong about it and he signed with the Lakers (42:00-52:15). To close it out the boys talk some college hoops (52:20-1:16:28). The boys are back this week to discuss everything around the association. Breaking news occurred right before when it was announced Joel Embiid might be out for the whole season. The boys discuss the effect this has on the 76ers and if there is any hope for a return. Then the fellas discuss the Doc Rivers hiring by the Bucks, and if he is the right man for the job. Later on, we discuss whether or not this NBA season has sucked so far with the lack of defense and competitive games, before closing it out talking about some college hoops with Duke vs North Carolina, Houston vs Kansas, and Gonzaga vs Saint Mary's taking center stage this weekend. And introducing our newest segment of weekly games, where this week Matt puts Houston and Ryan through the ringer to see what they know about the Gonzaga vs Saint Mary's rivalry.
