Wanting to be a bestseller usually means you want that little orange Amazon bestseller band across your book. But all that means is that you did a great job of hacking the Amazon algorithm.
Don’t get me wrong: being a bestselling book author isn’t a bad thing. If your book is actually a bestseller, it means you’ve written something that has the potential to make a huge impact.
So instead of asking how you can write a book that’s a bestseller, you’ve got to ask yourself a better question ...

Putting off writing your book because you don’t know where the hell to start? You’re not alone, my friend. If I had a pound for every person who said they wanted to write a book but never got around to it, I’d be recording this podcast from a mansion on a hill by the sea. But much like you, they haven’t started because they actually don’t want to write it. They just don’t have a bloody idea of where to start. So that is why for the month of August, we are going to be revisiting some episodes from the archives so that whilst you’re chilling over the summer (you ARE chilling, right?) you can get back to basics and get some of that creativity flowing. That way, we can all be ready for the pedal to hit the metal come September - deal? So where was I? Oh yes... The thing is, people write and publish books every day, so what do they know that you don’t? Well, the answer to that is exactly why this episode exists. It starts with asking the right question, which is why do you want to write a book? Please don’t bore me by telling me it’s because you’ve always wanted to write one. I don’t care all that much (and neither does anyone else). You’re going to have to dig a bit deeper to get to the heart of it — that’s why I’m telling you how on this episode of The AUTHORity Show. I’ll share a bit of my own personal experience to show you how you can figure out exactly what you have to offer to your readers. When you ask the right questions, you’ll know why your book needs to exist and who it can help. That’s the key to writing something that’s beneficial — to both you and your reader. Tune in and take notes, because this could be the difference between sitting around wanting to write a book and you actually doing it. When you’re done, hit me up on IG and let me know how this helped you and if you’ve figured it out, tell me what book you’re going to write. Or go one better and come and join my workshop that’s going to help you GET READY TO WRITE. Yup… you told me you’re not ready yet, and guess what? I listened? So on August 17th I’m running a 90 minute workshop to take you all the things that you can do NOW, to make your life so much easier when you finally are ready to get started. You can grab yourself a front row seat right here - and you can even upgrade to get my attention directly on your idea. Not sure your book is going to fly? VIP that shit up my friend! So when you tell me you’re going to write a book, I’ll be the first to make sure you know in advance that the actual writing part is a relatively small part of your journey.
Now I realize that could sway you from doing it altogether, but because I really care about you and your book is extremely important, I’m going to be straight with you from the start.

One of the things you’ll hear me say sometimes is that if you’re going to write a book about your life, no one cares. Well, that is unless you can take your life experience and what you’ve learned from it and use it to help others.
That’s precisely what Rhiannon Spurgeon did when she decided to write her book, Grief without Guilt: It Gets Better if You Let it, Even if it’s Complicated....

Now, a lot of the time when someone tells me they want to write a book about their life story I tell them that no one cares — because most of the time it’s true. But if you’ve got significant life transformation that lays the groundwork for helping others do the same? Well, now you’ve got yourself a book that will sell. So how do you take what you’ve been through and have worked to overcome and turn it into a powerful coaching tool? No one can show you the ropes better than Bridie Walker.
