This week’s message is from Philippians 4. John talks about the call to contentment and joy and how to make the most of every up and down of life.

God’s plan to bring redemption was initiated by a covenant with a man named Abram. From here through the rest of the Old Testament God worked through that covenant to develop His plan to bring a Redeemer. Today’s text is from Genesis 12.

Matthew 2:1-11 / The magi followed a star to Bethlehem to bring gifts to Jesus and worship Him as a newborn King. God puts “stars” and promptings In our lives to lead us into new discoveries and experiences with Him. How well do we pay attention and follow?

The wise men visited Herod and then found and worshipped the infant Jesus. Herod’s reaction was evil and oppressive. Today we consider why oppression exists and what God wants to do about it.
