Off to a great start!
I’ve only just found this by looking for a podcast interview with C. .N. Adiche, hence I’ve only listened to the very first interview of this podcast. They are definitely starting off on the right foot. If it continues as it has started, it will be superb. Chimamanda is beyond brilliant. Her description of why Americans, especially white women, supported trump in such large numbers is the most honest and accurate account i’ve ever heard. It is so right on the spot, as her assessments of America, Americans and feminism in America are.

Obama
I don't see Obama or the Democrat party being a pro democracy organization. With all the censorship of conservative voices, the DOJ using resources to go after parents, free speech (Twitter files), pro lifers and DEI ( new racism) is what I would expect to see from say 1933 Germany. Was a subscriber up to 2016 when I saw the left swing.

Please stop interrupting your guests
I really enjoy this podcast but I do wish that Jeffrey Goldberg would step back a bit. Especially in the beginning of his interview with Chimamanda Adichie, he kept recentering himself as if to prove he’s clever or cool... and from my perspective it just came across as disrespectful to his guest. The dynamic changes for the better as the interview proceeds... but the beginning almost lost me.

Cursory
Really appreciate most of Atlantic pod casts. This one about Amazon was pretty thin.

Jonah Goldberg
The host, Goldberg, asks questions then interrupts guest, Goldberg, 7 times in the first 30 seconds. Why have a guest on to interview if Jeffery G. keeps blabbing on with one interruption after another? It would be nice to hear the guest complete a single thought before being diverted onto some other conversational, or three, avenue by a yacky host. Really annoying.

Intelligent, fascinating
Intelligent interviews with a wide variety of fascinating guests. My only wish is that each interview were longer because I'm always sorry when they end.

I want to be Jeffrey Goldberg
I love listening to this freaking podcast! I can binge interview podcasts all day and this one is most certainly one of my favorites and I cannot more strongly recommend it.

Atlantic Interview with Chimimanda Adichie
Excellent. Even the junk at the beginning was relevant to the later discussion of the distinction between African American and African experience, self-identity, feminism.

Good while it lasted...
Jeffery Goldberg was great behind the mic. He may have interrupted the guest one or two times, but I don’t think that inhibited the power of the interviews at all. It’s unfortunately gone though. Hope it comes back...especially with Goldberg gone from Radio Atlantic.

LISTEN, stop interrupting guests
Active listening not just waiting for your turn to talk: it is a skill this interviewer could stand to acquire. Difficult to listen to because of all the interrupting and overtalking.

Sadly Disappointed
Like many others, I wanted to enjoy this podcast but found the host clueless about ways to discuss race. He interrupts often and makes it difficult for the interviewees to articulate their thoughts. Does not live up the standards one expects from The Atlantic. What a shame.

The Atlantic Interview
Judging from reviews it sounds like the host is the new Charlie Rose. I won’t bother listening.

Intelligent & Current
I love Jeffrey’s intelligent and thoughtful interviewing and the diversity of his guests. Love the current topics he brings as well. I highly recommend this podcast with just one star less for this reason; I didn’t vote for our current president but Jeffrey’s distain and dare I say borderline hatred of our current president is disheartening and it slips out in almost every interview. I believe we all must be the change we wish to see and as Madeline Albright alluded to - the us against them and polarization is dividing our nation. To disagree wholeheartedly absolutely but mocking disdain just makes it feel like it is sometimes bias interviewing and leading the guest. Four stars!

Jeffrey Goldberg is awesom
Jeffrey Goldberg does a different kind of interview than others I listen to (Fresh Air, Diane Rehm, 1A, etc). He's funny in a very dry way and a bit snarky but cuts to the chase. I find his style quite refreshing and look forward to this podcast every week. I see some reviewers think he's disrespectful and inserts himself too much, or is arrogant. I really enjoy his style and I encourage him to keep being him, because I love it!

Smart, fast, fun
Jeffrey G is a great talker. His interviews move along at a fast, engaging pace. When he interviews someone making the rounds on every other podcast/new soutlet, e.g., Madeleine Albright most recently, JG's interview is always the smartest, most interest and the most fun. Guest's respect for JG is obvious and engagement in the conversation really fun to listen to. One of my fav podcasts.

One of the greatest interviewers, but...
Jeffrey Goldberg is really bright and knowledgeable. He’s also a sophisticated thinker. You can tell by his quick and incisive follow up questions that he thinks quickly. In short, he’s a great thinker and a highly skilled interviewer. But I notice that he throws softball questions to people on the left, sometimes just taking the left’s narrative as a given in his questions (e.g. Tracy Chou) and asking only slightly challenging questions, while constantly challenging and registering his disagreement with interviewers on the right (e.g. Mollie Hemingway). I’m glad he interviews people on the right though. Overall an enjoyable but imperfect podcast.

Great content, annoying host
I really enjoy hearing what the guests have to say, but I can’t stand how often and obnoxiously Jeffrey Goldberg tends to interrupt.

Great, but . . . .
I really wish someone other than Jeffrey Goldberg were doing the interviews. It sounds as if he thinks he's cute and loveable and funny, but he sounds condescending and dismissive to me--especially when interviewing people of color and women. l really appreciate the interviews, but I wish he would listen to himself with a critical ear and cut the remarks he interjects (probably thinks he's being funny) which mostly sound like he's trying to distract or undercut whoever he's talking to. I end up thinking if I were interesting enough for him to interview, I'd end up slapping him. So I've just read a number of reviews that point out the same thing and clearly he's not interested. So, I guess I'll just have to take deep breaths and try not to grind my teeth.

Great commuting companion
I’ve read the Atlantic for many years. These interview podcasts are as good as the writing. Listen to the one with Ta-Nehesi Coates for a great example.

Good conversation/Snarky Host
I respect what Jeffrey Goldberg does at the Atlantic Magazine, and am a happy subscriber, but he is a snide and cynical on-air interviewer. Though the guests are great and the content generally good, I find his tone tough to take, distracting from the issues that are being discussed.
KatesterNY105
disingenuous
Come on, now. What did you expect? When you mention others viewpoints only to condescend not to engage in dialog, boys will be boys, and everyone knows if their behavior makes you uncomfortable, well, that's on you. I suppose you're right; Flanagan would be a good source on toxic femininity.

5 stars
A phenomenal podcast. Jeff Goldberg is a natural conversationalist (no small feat for a writer!) He manages to make accessible the intellectualism of the best egg-heads (and I use that term affectionately).

Great dialogue!
Very interesting and intelligent q and a with an outstanding selection of guests. Well played Atlantic.

New fan here wooooooooo!
I love the relaxed tone of the conversations. At a time when it feels difficult to talk about nearly anything without it ending in a) groupthink or b) a fight, it's wonderful to hear conversation that rationally explores issues that can otherwise turn out be trip-bombs. Goldberg comfortably infuses his quick humor and wit into the conversation, adding to the entertainment factor and keeping the casual feel as if you were sitting at a dinner table with the participants.

LOVE THIS
I love/hate whenever I get caught up with all the episodes I haven't had a chance to listen to just yet, because then I've gotta wait for the next one. Great host, great diversity in guests, great topics/questions/research. Super high quality production. In my Top 5 podcasts that I have to listen to.

Great contribution
So glad that the Atlantic is doing these interviews. They make me think and question my own assumptions. We all need to be more reflective and comtemplate matters from various perspectives. This can lead to greater understanding, maybe even greater tolerance. I'm finding these podcasts to be both interesting and quite helpful.

Great Guests, Annoying host
The Atlantic editor is very annoying. He often interrupts the interesting and informative guests to make unrelatable and unfunny jokes. Jeff, stop doing that. Otherwise, I have learned a lot from the Guests— even when I didn’t know who they were beforehand.

A great podcast
I love this podcast. The interviews are so witty and intelligent. This has become my favorite podcast, by far.

Refreshing
I find it so refreshing to listen to each episode - like this latest with Maggie Haberman. I get to hear thoughtful intelligent respectful conversation between people who seem to enjoy each other’s company while not necessarily agreeing on everything. What a concept! There’s no shouting. There’s shared laughter. There’s caring for facts and truth, and a shared optimism. Jeff Goldberg does a great interview. Love the magazine and this podcast adds a wonderful new dimension to The Atlantic experience.

When Jeffrey Goldberg pods Maggie Haberman you must listen and learn
Without a doubt a conversation that can only be described as a Must-Listen.

Enlightening and smart was not a surprise; the humor was!
I expected Goldberg to conduct a great interview and I wasn’t disappointed. These conversations are engaging and reflective and leave me not just more informed, but with a new perspective on the big ideas of our world. The bonus is Goldberg’s fabulous sense of humor, often self deprecating and always highly entertaining. I have laughed out loud. My new favorite podcast!

New to me
I’m new to The Atlantic and this podcast. Enjoying it so far. Appreciate the length of ~30 minutes. Good variety of guests. Plan to keep listening.

Great podcast, snarky host
I like the podcast. There have been interesting guests and the episodes aren’t long. However, I don’t think the host takes the conversation seriously at time which throws off the purpose of the conversation.
Bittersweet Milk
Great guests; awful host
I was so excited to listen to the Nikole Hannah-Jones interview but Goldberg’s style made this almost unlistenable. He interrupts; he doesn’t listen; he is defensive. Go on Ezra Klein’s show, Nikole! He would give you the time and respect that you deserve.

Nice surprise
Love the episodes I've heard so far, and appreciate the more casual and conversational tone of the interviews. The discussion flows more naturally than a lot of other interviews with comparable guests - and seems to generate a better exploration of the chosen topics.

Very well hosted
I love how Goldberg is able to guide a conversation with his guests that is not overly produced (ie, it's a single conversation) but also draws out their most interesting, compelling, or counter-intuitive points. His ability to be both involved in the conversation and also produce the conversation makes this podcast a pleasure to listen to.

Insufferable
The host has been around sycophants too long. Overbearing and deeply needy for attention, he attempts humor and fails, interrupts, and tries to finish interviewees’ thoughts. Insufferable.
SacAris
Great guests, but stop interrupting
While the guests are fantastic, I’m not sure I, nor the interviewer, Goldberg, heard the important insights the interviewees are sharing. Consistently interrupting and over-explaining for his guests detracts from their work and the listeners’ experience. Beyond creating an entertaining podcast, Goldberg seems to be uncomfortable admitting that he and “progressive liberals” are also culprits of the racism and privilege the interviewees discuss. For example, when Nikole Hannah-Jones gives information on racial segregation in schools, Goldberg really doesn’t need to repeatedly interject to point out that we’ve made process, white families don’t want segregation and his experience was of perfect diversity. While asking questions and preserving nuance is good, let’s let the experts talk and be a little more self-aware.

So Far, So Good
I’ve listened to two podcasts. So far I like the guest list. I was a bit surprised at Mr. Goldberg’s sense of humor. He is always so dour on Face the Nation ☹️☹️☹️. Good for you Jeff. However, given the interviews are very short, I’d like just a little less humor and a few more probing questions to his guests. Don’t get me wrong. Humor is important, it just shouldn’t lessen the interview when it becomes silly. Thank you for an interesting and educational podcast. I look forward to future interviews.
