So what that the Slam and Jam hosts are OKC fans. Their Thunder podcast is great! This beats the alternative of having to listen to talk about the Lakers, Warriors, and Boston constantly. Go Thunder!

Best daily nba podcast, especially the down to dunk slam and jam dudes.

The fact that Andrew and Alex are providing team building analysis and commentary on all NBA teams, when they also host an OKC fanboy account, shows you exactly where the Athletic stands in terms of seriousness of actual NBA coverage.

Cmon guys. “It’s a skill” “all the other players yell hey”. Give me a break. Neutrals hate this. It changed the course of games, as you point out, but somehow while discussing it positively? Let’s not do this.

Andrew and Alex are so fun to listen to. I love how much they prepare for the show with stats, quotes, and trivia. They are the surprise team of nba podcasters!

The personalities on this podcast lack the humor and insight of some other NBA podcasts (like Zach Lowe, windhorst, Jacoby & Verno, Nick Wright, etc.) Just not a good podcast. They’re not interesting people— not everyone needs a podcast.

I appreciate all the athletic’s nba coverage, but am specifically leaving this review to draw attention to the Athletic app, which seems to have wrong length files and some advertising included files uploaded right now

Your show is still the best with your weekly deep dive with various team’s beat writers and great trivia. However, the Clippers were in fact a surprise team this season. Their Basketball Reference over/under was 35.5 wins, in fact I bet them over at that number. That makes four surprise teams that you two didn’t guess. You can’t win them all, but you guys are still great!

Lol can yall get some people that actually know basketball? These hosts watch basketball…but do not know basketball. This podcast is for a hoop novice or casuals. Can Dave stop calling himself a “coach” too? Man loves to declare it but have not heard him ever give an actual (non-obvious) x-and-o’s suggestion. Es is the only one providing some kind of analysis. Appreciate the every day pod’s, but I think I get stupider listening. The Saturday pod is fantastic though.

The hosts were discussing the round 1 nba playoff game between the Denver Nuggets and The Los Angeles Clippers and it was clear that one of the hosts did not watch the game at all.

My favorite hour of podcast listening each week. Alex’s review of the week is writing gold and the funniest nba content out there. The pod does deep dives but keeps it light, and I play along with trivia each week excited when I know one, but that also serves as a reminder that I should probably consume less nba and spend more time with my wife and kid.

Why does the Athletic hate teams like the Miami Heat? Even as one of the most successful franchises in the last 20 to 30 years they are one of a few teams that don’t have a dedicated beat writer and even on a night where they are one of two games, other teams are receiving far more coverage.

wild that immediately after a conversation abt the internet and devices desensitizing ppl these guys immediately launched into cheering ja morant on as a "troll" bruh im 21 and i have to tell men in their 40s that trolling isnt admirable? that no functional society has or ever will cheer on antisocial behavior. woz in particular cheering it on is wild. ive listened for a while and dude is def a little muddled on race takes, and as a black man myself ima tell u it is hard to chastise ja because it feels like applying the "white lens" of morality to the dude but u gotta recognize he is legit encouraging everyone, but in particular young black men, to be ppl who solve problems w guns or think guns r tough guy stuff. any nonsense abt how athletes arent moral role models is beta male cope. yall need to buy a mirror and take a look at it

The Slam and Jam has become the most unique and fun podcast covering the NBA; all while still educating listeners and making them smarter NBA fans. Andrew and Alex’s chemistry is obvious and I hope this podcast lives on until I am dead.

I love this show and insight but any pod from an airport lobby or common space is an automatic skip. Background noise for an audio platform is a tough listen.

Love Slam & Jam, and the Daily Pod as well! I appreciate how lighthearted the crew keeps it. Always has a positive—or as positive as it can be, when the subject is, e.g. Randall or the 76ers—approach to discussing players, teams, and the NBA. Makes the podcast a fun listen for the jokes, trivia, and great guests.

It helps me keep up with the NBA. everyday it is the best way I can keep up on the NBA. Great Podcast

I wouldn’t have a reason to get out of bed if it wasn’t for the NBA Daily Podcast. I would die in my bed from dehydration. My family would have to call a service to remove my rotting carcass, which would be an experience I believe they would struggle to forget. But thanks to this podcast, I do get out of bed every day: in fact, I LEAP out of bed to hear each new episode. I thank you. My family thanks you. My higher power, who I choose to call Dyson Daniels, thanks you. Please don’t ever stop making new episodes or I will die!

Love the new pods with Es, Zena, and Dave as well. Been a listener for years but just got an iPhone so I can leave this review. As of 3/12/25 Andrews unofficial record calculated by me (so a strong chance there’s a mistake but we’re at least in the ballpark) is 64-68-4. I sent screenshots to Al on Bluesky showing the date, wheel team, opponent and outcome, so my work can be double checked. Love the slam N Jam keep up the great work.

PROS: - daily episodes - great game by game breakdowns - fast show pace, doesn’t lag CONS - too much focus on the same 5-7 teams. Need to look around the league a bit more. - Often too much focus on being reporters and the journalist experience. Gotta say: This is supposed to be a basketball podcast. Not a writers summit. Talk ball!!

I’ve been listening to this show every Saturday for years and I got to say it’s my favorite pod of the week. These guys are awesome and the trivia is great. I laugh out loud at least once every week at the hilarious questions that they come up with. Keeps me going during my Saturday chores.

Slam n Jam is a 100/10, so funny, great chemistry, great everything. But they’ve only posted like once a month this year which has been a bummer. And I miss all the old shows like Baksetbuds with Jay King, Tampering with Slater, The Marcus Thompson and David Aldridge Pod and Nerder. But the new format is just the Daily Ding but 10 mins longer. I get it, drop some talent, drop some workload save some money, but it’s to bad is all.

Best NBA show out there! I do miss the other shows that were previously on this feed but having quick episodes everyday has been great to keep up with everything happening. Slam N Jam is elite and getting to test my NBA knowledge on trivia is the best! I found myself screaming "PABLO PRIGIONI" in my car during the most recent episode while Andrew and Sam struggled to think of someone. Alex does a great job with the questions and deserves an award for some of the madness he causes! Lastly, hope Andrew's recovery is going well. I also had a meniscus repaired when I went in for a torn ACL so I know exactly what you are going through! Best of luck. You'll be back to normal before you know it!
