Great podcast!
I found this podcast last year, and I love the story telling and cases that have been covered. I look forward to each new episode that comes out!

Script reader
The host sounds like she’s reading from a script, no emotion whatsoever. It really takes you out of the story.

Amazing Podcast, Even more Amazing Podcaster!
I cannot not recommend this podcast enough! There are so many true crime podcasts out there, but separating herself from the pack is Jess. Not just because she chooses to cover crimes done to people on or from the asian continent - but also because of the unique way she tells her stories. She is so in depth, caring, and all around amazing podcaster!

Love this podcast!!
I’ve been a listener for awhile. I have adhd so I’m terrible with time, so idk exactly how long, but I’ve been able to binge a few episodes at a time. Kind of like a yummy snack, I’ve been purposely hoarding episodes so I could listen to more than one at a time. Imagine my dismay and surprise when I saw that I’d listened to all of them! Sigh. Keep up the excellent work, Jessica. I appreciate all the research you put into each episode and have learned a lot about countries I’d never even thought of!

So good
I love hearing stories from the other side of the world, and this podcast is super well done.

Great!
Straight to the point, full of facts, sooo interesting. I’m hooked!

Well done podcast.
Straight to the point facts and keen observations from a host with an excellent sense of dry humor. Found the podcast on motherhood and Mayhem collab.

“Japan speaks Japanese”
Ooh girl, nah…. just no. I like the podcast but I’m kinda turned off overall. There’s a lot of unnecessary tidbits that take away from the narrative. Podcasts should be like a good meal. Don’t put anything on the plate that doesn’t benefit the dish as a whole, aren’t complimentary flavors or are not meant to be eaten like decorative sprigs or fruit rinds.

Very interesting and informative podcast
If you are interested in any podcasts like generation why, the peripheral or just very informative podcast this is for you the host Jessica is so good at what she does and never seems to miss a beat when it comes to trying to understand other people and their situation and I love learning more about Asia as I am an American citizen and have never really traveled anywhere it’s really cool to get insight about different places especially less talked about countries

One of THE BEST Asian true crime podcasts
This podcast has been one that I’ve been able to binge without eventually getting bored. Jessica has covered cases that I’ve never heard on other podcasts and I do feel guilty saying that I like her sometimes deep history lessons before getting into the gist of the case. Keep up the great content and hope there will be many more interesting episodes to come!

Jessica does her homework!
Thank you for giving geographic and socioeconomic facts about each country before discussing each case. This is great background information. I also appreciate the light humor and sarcasm to ease the dark topics.

I love it!!
I just started to listen your podcast and I cannot say other than I love it!! It’s super interesting, well explained and from many different Asian countries, which to me always had been mysterious because I don’t know much about them or their culture. Thank you for your time doing this to share with us and please don’t quit, I want to listen to many many episodes. Congrats!!

Thoughtful and unique
Jessica is one of the kindest true crime podcasters. She isn’t trying to be funny off the backs of the bruised, she isn’t trying to make a buck off someone else’s misery, and she isn’t a plagiarist—all of which make her stand out from the crowd. Plus, she is a sweetheart, and her tales of Asian crime are unique and fascinating.

Wonderful
I listen to dozens of podcasts, and this is my absolute favorite. I love Jessica so much. Her excellent writing and warm demeanor makes her feel like one of those super smart friends whose wisdom you genuinely like listening to. The Asian Madness Podcast is super underrated. I am respectfully sorry if this is overstepping boundaries as I don’t know the podcaster’s daily life and dreams for the future, but…If this is your true passion, Jessica, please consider making a Patreon so we can support you so that you could do this for a living. We all need more Asian history in our lives, and you are simply the best teacher. 🥰 —Ginny from Chicago

Dark, Informative and Entertaining
I really love this podcast. It feels like Jessica is right in front of you having a conversation and being real with you. She’s very well informed and sarcastic, which I love. From the myths to the true stories they are dark and bring chills down your spine. Keep up the amazing work you do.

Weird news, but respectful and chill
I love the crime coverage, ghost stories, and general info from the host’s perspective.

Obsessed!
Jessica is so cool, her voice and her laid back sarcasm. Really interesting cases!!!

Loving it
Jessica, it’s so awesome of you to provide this kind of content! We have so many true crime podcasts in the US that focus on the western world and that really never tackle the eastern world with any sort of finesse or diligence. Your pod fills that niche perfectly and with all the local regional context that is really necessary for the story. It’s brilliant! Keep it up!

Great Podcast
One of my favorite podcasts. Jessica is a great host.
Forever weird and strange
Great show

The best asian true crime podcast
I am one to be easily annoyed by obnoxious or fake sounding voices. I like your voice, it’s natural and perfectly suited to the stories you talk about.

Such a gem!
I found Jessica’s podcast around the time it came out and have been listening since. I really enjoy hearing these cases and her editorializing is such a fun part of things, especially since she is a solo host I am always caught off guard. In addition to just talking about the crime Jessica shares a lot about history and culture. The urban legend episodes are a lot of fun, too.

Absolutely love this podcast!
Jessica is such a blunt and down to the point host , who narrates the topic of the week with factual information and adds in unique commentary! I love how she talks directly to the listener and isn’t afraid to talk to herself as she narrates ( it’s a nice change from boring documentary like voices in other podcasts.) My favorite part is when she adds in music or clips , it makes the case or topic more real . Great job jessica!

Bad reviews are garbage
The people who say that this rambles on clearly aren’t actually listening. This is an insightful podcast, great narration ! Love to listen to it

Need to check out if you love true crime
Jessica is an awesome host. I knew nothing about true crime in Asia until listening to this show. It’s nice when she covers stories about Asians in my area because I can say, “Oh, I remember that!”

Mad about Asian Madness
Jessica is a fantastic host. I love how well-researched every episode is, and I appreciate the historical context and introduction to the various countries and customs. Also her subtle humor and delightfully deadpan delivery. I’m not an expert but it sounds like she pronounces all the names and place names like a native speaker regardless of which Asian language it is. I love the urban legend episodes...I am still sick from the sesame seed story!!!

Fetus episode
I was concerned at first listening to this episode, being from the US and a woman with strong opinions, I was worried our views as women from totally different parts of the world may differ on sensitive topics and ultimately I may not like what you had to say about gender equality/rolls (just how casual you were in the beginning) . Well of course, you don’t disappoint and I love your podcast. The Khmer episode brought me in since my husband is Khmer and I am not. It’s hard to hear these stories from the communities here in the US. So I especially appreciate episodes like those. I can’t imagine the podcast w/out the slight monotone, don’t change, I love the podcast! You rock and thank you!

Asian True Crime Brilliance
This is one of the best podcasts out there. The host does an absolutely amazing g job of researching and analysing crime including culturally sensitive commentary. She outlines the geography, population, religion, and cultural aspects of her subject. You will learn an enormous amount whilst being entertained. I really appreciate the host giving her opinions of events as she brings to light racial and misogynistic aspects of crime. I highly recommend this podcast!

pretty good
while its not groundbreaking in any sense, it is a really fun and easy listen!! jessica’s offbeat tone and interjections are what really make this podcast unique :)

Pet rats rock
I love this podcast. Jessica is very knowledgeable about the crimes and the countries the crimes are committed in. I especially appreciated the episode focusing on Jun Lin, and not his murderer. Most of the crimes covered I have never heard of. For being a crime podcast, her voice is very soothing, and I appreciate her commentary. My only issue with this podcast is that rape isn’t always called out as rape, instead labeled as sex. That aside, this has been my go to podcast to escape my worries. Highly recommend

Unsolicited Social Studies Lecture
It took the narrator 6 painful minutes to lose me. I wanted to hear about the Furuta case but I listened to a monotonous lecture about Japan's history, geography, archeology, population, languages (spoken and written) and origins, I mean FFS get to the story! Do podcasts have a word-count requirement that she's trying to get? And it's not even relevant or valuable information that she just bestowed upon me. This is more like a summary written by a second grader for a homework assignment. Miss narrator, I can assure you that most people know that "Japan speaks Japanese", so maybe work on a better introduction? Or don't. I'm out of here!

Jessica, thank you for the work you do!!! You bring a light to cases probably most people in the United States have heard!
