Batman animated series reviews
I just found your guys podcast. It’s really awesome and insightful. I went back 10 years to begin listening to your review of each episode after watching them. I’ve really enjoyed them and I love your voice Andrea although it makes me fall asleep sometimes while listening to your podcast at night lol keep up the great work

Love but one critique
I love the podcast, but I wish Brian would stop interrupting Andrea so much. We want to hear both of their points, without that!

Love it
I love all the work you guys do to support mental health agencies. I also love all your thoughts about BTAS and Batman. But ummm, do we really have to get political?? I feel as though a show like this should be in-partial to that and just give a straight diagnosis. And while you guys “try” to stay away from politics, it’s very clear what your political values/views are. Other than that keep up the all great work 💕💕💕💕💕!!!! Edit: claims to be a Batman podcast. I am totally fine with branching out into the whole DCEU but we are way beyond that. You can’t claim to be a Batman podcast, and do stuff about Star Wars. So at least market yourselves correctly as a nerd psychology podcast! Love ❤️

Good Analysis
Overall this show is very informative on the psychology of the Batman characters. I have learned a lot about the motivations of their actions and it gave me a new perspective on certain plots. Also, it makes the characters even more relatable than they already are by breaking down how their choices are influenced by their own mentality and life struggles. However, I find the female host to be rude at times. Yes, sometimes the male host can interrupt but for the most part he’s just making a point. She can be condescending, but she does give good points as well.

Best bat-cast out there
Far and away the best bat-cast I’ve seen ever, and it helps bring out my inner child, also it!s great to see more people who share my love of btas just as much as I do, and although I do have my gripes here and there I diffidently think this is a great podcast

So niche, but great!
Not a whole ton of people will appreciate it, but this podcast is so amazing. I love the hosts, and I’m a big of fan of keeping the episodes short and packed. Honestly, one of the best batman pods out there. 6/5
GnarlyNyman
Wrong on major point in Rises
Host makes the point that Batman clearly lost second fight with Bane which is incorrect. Batman had defeated Bane and then was stabbed by Talia which was her big reveal. Breakdown of the Nolan trilogy was very interesting but disappointed this slipped through such an in depth analysis of the films.

Personally not into Stephen Universe but I love the Batman analysis
Great show. Congratulations on getting married.

Very interesting podcast
I loved Batman the Animated Series as a child and this podcast takes me back in a good way. It’s very interesting to revisit this childhood favorite with adult glasses and see that it mostly holds up.

Let the woman speak
I have listened to a couple episodes and for the most part I think the shows incredible. I just wish the male host would stop talking sometimes. He rarely adds anything outside of a few opinions I have 0 interest in. I’d prefer a show without him. But all that aside it’s a lot is fun to listen to.

Psychology and Batman? Ehhh...
I want to like this show, but the Doctor tries to apply psychology to, let’s face it a cartoon for seven olds, albeit an amazing cartoon! Applying real world psychology etc to Batman (Why is Joker the way he is, Why is Poison Ivey seductive) is a bit much for me...

One episode and I’m hooked
As a writer I sometimes find myself starved for critical analysis of my more geeky interests - this show provides an in-depth breakdown of the various psychologies of characters that obviously deserve such attention but oftentimes don’t get it because they’re considered “for children”

Incredible Content
I recommend this podcast to almost everyone I know. Informative and passionate, Brian and Dr. Letamendi bring a thoughtful psychological examination of the amazing properties DC has to offer. It's an incredible listen and no DC playlist should be without it! Dave - Pizza and Parsecs

No more Doom Patrol for foreseeable future please.
For a show supposedly geared toward BTAS, the amount of Doom Patrol is smothering.

Akrham Asylum
Like the show! Didn’t see an Arkham Aslyum episode (the Grant Morrison graphic novel) but that is a real deep dive into the psychology of everyone in the Bat-verse. Do that one please!

Thanks for your contribution to the field of mental health!
You all help me think deeper on mental health care! I am Active Duty and a behavioral healthcare provider and Your show is part of my own self care. More importantly, your show is so technically proficient and accurate, it can be used as a CE or CME for our field of practice. Your knowledge is impressive and as a purist with comic book history and origin stories, I appreciate your attention to detail for each topic you choose to cover. Thanks for Staying engaged with your audience, it’s truly refreshing!! (Dr. J. Anderson) A.K.A Dr. Jay

Brian is the -2 stars
I realize this show only exists because of him, however he really brings the show down. He has theories which are honestly fine by themselves, but then he brings up the same theory for 4 or 5 episodes straight where Drea is very obviously just humoring him. The biggest annoyance is his ego. He’s very clearly upset being the “dumb” character on the podcast and constantly tries to find an “Ah-ha!” moment to be smarter. In episode 39 he’s super excited to be explaining the theory of The Singularity to Drea. A few episodes before this point he gets very obviously upset over a single email *he chose* to read on the podcast where someone expressed annoyance over his character. He then makes passive aggressive comments not only throughout that episode, but then makes them in the next few episodes. We get it, you have the power dude, stop stroking your ego, analyze BTAS. I hope it gets better, but if not I’ll probably unsubscribe way before I catch up to the present day. Edit 9/28/19: Brian made huge, ridiculous, false assumptions about the military he is supposedly familiar with (being from a military family). This is my last episode, Drea cannot make up for how awful this man’s character is.

One of my favorites!
This podcast got me to finally break down and buy the rest of the BtAS volumes that I didn’t own. It’s so interesting to hear about the heroes and villains from a perspective that I would never have been exposed to.

Love Batman and fall in love with psychology
when I found out amazon prime had the whole Batman TAS on streaming I looked for a companion podcast and found you two. To my surprise you’re quite a fascinating approach. I’m at the beginning and still have years of episodes to catch up on. Learning a lot. Episodes have great replayability

Deep, educated and sad.
I suffer from anxiety, depression and PTSD. So listening to this pod cast beings a smile to my face and soul, to know that these characters have the same imperfections that I do. I find myself wanting to know more about my mental health and how an event can drive someone of the edge.

Interesting
A great listen. I fear the day when they run out of Batman TAS material to analyze.

Holy psychoanalysis, Batman!
This podcast is fascinating and informative. It's a great way for longtime fans BTAS to revisit the near-flawless show through a new lens, picking up new insights about all these beloved characters all the while. I'd recommend it to any fans of Batman, and especially fans of the animated series.

Great batsman/science podcast
I have a question after listening to the scar face episode. You guys brought up how batman slash Bruce is sympathetic to the sidekicks. How does that play into the douche baggery that exists between batman slash Bruce and his sidekicks? Helps Villain sidekicks. Kicks his own?
BestHypeManEver
Brilliant podcast
Dr. Andrea Letamendi and Brian Ward, through the application of real world psychology and analysis, bring what is probably the best perspective on the fantastical, yet grounded, world of the Dark Knight and its characters. Drea, through explaing real world psychological phenomena and how they apply to Batman heroes and villains, helps us understand and sympathize with them even more than the show was able to do (and it was very effective at doing so). In listening and reflecting, you can even garner therapeutic advice for how you treat yourself and others. In many ways, its a soothing and intellectual podcast that will help you feel more confident to tackle the pressures of daily life, as well as gain insight into what makes Batman characters who they are. Wonderful podcast.

Best of two worlds
This podcast mixes two of my favorite things: psychology and Batman. Andrea and Brian do a great job talking about real, serious issues as found in a fictional universe.

Useful and interesting
I'm currently in graduate school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and love this podcast. I love hearing about the diagnoses and analysis on the podcast that I'm dealing with in school and with patients, it's right up my alley.

So Interesting!
I love learning more about psychology and my favorite comic book villians/heroes. The hosts bring knowledge and humor to an already interesting subject matter

Very Engaging
Really awesome podcast. I love hearing the analysis from a psychological standpoint, and both hosts bring a different perspective to the Batman series. I am so sad that I'm almost caught up. Nooo.

Mind blowing
The fact that this exists is amazing to me! Can't wait for "Over the Edge" episode!

really obnoxious show
i don't know if brian ward is actually like this, or if he's just playing a character who's completely full of himself and a stuttering windbag, but it's not an ingredient for a good podcast . dr. letamendi certainly seems like a capable teacher of the psychiatric mainstays . i understand that her institutional work involves treating traumatized children, which is admirable, but her role here seems to be to reinforce psychology's role as an arm of the repressive state apparatus, and that is not so admirable .

New Favorite!!
I had heard of this podcast a couple months ago and just listened to a few episodes yesterday on my commute. I love it!! Both hosts provide very insightful commentary about the Batman universe and it's characters. I've gone back and started from the beginning and I'm enjoying every episode so far!

Childhood meets Adulthood
I loved BTAS when I was a kid and saw every episode multiple times. As an adult I love being able to revisit each show in detail as the hosts open up a broad world of the psychological issues contained in every episode. I would recommend this show to any one who is a fan of Batman, whether they have seen the show or not, as well as anyone interested in psychology and the processes of the human mind. The dynamic between Andrea and Brian is one that few podcasts match, and I love the way both of them constantly alternate between teacher and learner. I highly recommend this podcast!

Amazing Idea, Well Done
If you loved Batman: TAS like I did growing up, or came to it later, if you're a Batman fan and think about the dark and varied psychology of the Batman, or his Rogues Gallery, then you'll think this show is golden. It is. Very special, well done. Thanks creators!
Brilliantly Executed Concept
This is the podcast Gotham & Arkham Deserve
I absolutely love this podcast! I actually was re watching the series when I found this lovely gem. Dr. Letimendi and Brian Ward really take the show to a whole new level as I re watch the series as an adult. To critically engage with each episode allows the audience to gain a whole new appreciation for BTAS. Keep it up guys!

An incredible podcast for a great series!!!!
BTAS came out when I was in college and I thought it was something incredible immediately, and it has proven to remain my favorite portrayal of Batman and the Joker and the Gotham universe. As something of an armchair psychologist and student of human nature, I am really enjoying Dr. Letamendi and Brian tease out and pull apart each episode of this series that was definitely more than just something for kids. They definitely have struck the proper balance between discussing clinical psychological concepts and talking to us lay-listeners. I am just catching up with the episodes now, so I can obsessively listen to several a day...but not looking forward to when I will have to anxiously wait for each episode. I would love to hear what these two amiable, intelligent and insightful podcasters would/will one day make of the show Gotham. Thanks guys and keep up the excellent work!!!

Batman Anlyzied
There's a lot of anlysis out on the Internet about Batman, but very few that are as well-thought out and compelling as the Arkham Sessions. It's interesting to revisist the animated series from a psychological perspective from an actual psychologist, no less. Even if you don't agree with some of their theories it will make you think about Batman in ways you never considered.

Getting very annoyed.
I've loved this podcast for awhile now. Having someone trained on the human mind breaking down the motives behind batmans villains is amazing to listen to. However the guy on the show is getting on my last nerve. He keeps forcing in these audio clips from the btas at the most annoying times. It comes off awkward and random. You can hear the in his co hosts voice when he does it that she's thrown off by it. He's ruining the show slowly.

The Doctress is In!
Dr. Drea and Brian bring you a review podcast unlike any other! I am loving TAS! It's approaching a cartoon review podcast in a way that has never really been done before. Brian brings the media info along, and Dr. Letamendi not only geeks out on BTAS, she analyzes each character and situation! ANY Bat-Fan should be listening to this!!!!!

Batman + Psychology = Awesomeness
I absolutely love this podcast. I am learning a lot and being a psychology major and a Batman fan makes it that much better. I can't wait to hear more from Brian and Dr. Letamendi.

Why...Just what the Doctor Ordered...HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
I thought I was Batman's psychotic obession. I have a B.A. in Social Science, and have enjoyed analyzing Batman and his rouge gallery of the Criminal Insane. The hosts do not bore, in fact they are straight and to the point. This is one of the smarter of the Batcasts. First twenty minutes and you'll be hooked. Can't wait to hear their thoughts on Riddler and The Mad Hatter.

Amazing podcast!
This is the podcast I’ve been waiting for. It provides not just a great retrospective of the phenomenal Batman: The Animated Series in general, but gives fascinating insight into the psychological reasoning behind the villains we love. Every single episode is a great listen, and I highly recommend it!
