In this episode, I continue to talk about rejection & how it has shaped not only my personality, but how I approach building relationships with different people. I also talk about what it means to be invitational versus intrusive when it comes to sharing the Gospel, as well as being intentional versus transactional when it comes to communicating to others.

I want to take the opportunity to share and reflect, as several years have passed, on some incidents in which I have been rejected. I think we don’t talk about a rejections enough & because of that, we fear that not getting it the first time means not getting it at all. If anything, rejection should not be a roadblock, but a speedbump, a chance for us to be present in the moment and understand that in the big scheme of things, it’s not about getting there quick, it’s about the process. The journey. The long term. The legacy.

On this episode, I talk about how social media has matured over the past 10 years, how I’ve been able to find balance in it, dissect what the kids are using these days & how parents can be proactive to communicate with their kids about it.

That’s something I experienced this week, whether it’s having to postpone this podcast, changing my college plans, or pursuing other part time jobs to stay on the grind.

Happy summer & welcome to the first episode of the Andi B. Broke Show! This is a snapshot preview of what I want to talk about on this podcast. Super pumped to share my current experience as a (broke) college student at Clemson University & hope to be able to provide value & a healthy perspective on how students should approach college TODAY. As we are gearing towards 2020, the academic environment is changing, even if the system itself isn’t. Traditional education is beginning to compete with the practicality of the Internet. What I mean is, getting a degree is not the only way to work towards success anymore. As a child of life-long educators, both within the classroom & community, this is a weird time we’re living in, and it’s not gonna stop anytime soon, even if the system doesn’t pick up the current pace. This is the first of many episodes in which we will navigate through this strange, yet exciting time for students to learn the power of practicality & how to utilize it towards personal success!
