In 2013, Jason Loper, a blogger and digital marketing executive, and Michael Schreiber, a writer and therapist, purchased the only American System-Built Home constructed in Iowa, the Delbert and Grace Meier House, which set them on a course of refurbishing and researching their new residence. In their book, This American House, Jason and Michael trace the history of the Meier House through its previous owners, and shed light on this underexplored period of Wright’s oeuvre.

Michael Schreiber’s debut book, One-Man Show: The Life and Art of Bernard Perlin, was named a Stonewall Honor Book by the American Library Association and is being adapted into a feature-length film. This American House is his second book. Michael continues his work of the past twenty years guiding the cognitive, emotional and social development of young adults with autism and other developmental challenges.
