A talented swimmer before leaving school at 15 for hairdressing, Cate wanted to be the best whilst also maintaining her independence. Facing a series of setbacks as an adult, Cate rediscovered her zest for life through hard work, love and support, and a responsibility towards those close to her. Finding cycling was the icing on the cake as Cate regained her competitive edge, and found a way to empower both herself and others.
