Alex is amazing at bringing together adoptive moms and telling their stories. It’s amazing to be able to hear stories that while different then mine, they transfer strength, camaraderie, and encouragement every time I listen in. This is a must subscribe if you are an adoptive mom, foster mom or thinking about foster care or adoption.

This has been a life saver for my husband & I as we have been in the process of opening our home. It honestly was a god thing when we found this podcast & it is one of the greatest resources we’ve found to really prepare our home, hearts, family, and selves for this adoption journey. If nothing else, it’s just so nice to not be “alone” in this journey. Edited to add: we’ve now been listening to this podcast for 3 years. We’ve been through 2 adoptions and have leaned on this podcast in times to not feel so alone, especially during the pandemic. Highly suggest starting in season 1 & listening all the way through.

Love the podcast. Very informative and love to hear the stories. After listening to several podcasts, I notice the host sometimes laughs at inappropriate times (for example when an interviewee discusses something obviously serious or hard for them to discuss) which is a little awkward/ unsettling. Still, I’d recommend this podcast to hopeful adoptive families!

My husband and I are currently preparing to adopt kids from fostercare. This podcast has given me a lot of encouragement as well as prepared me for some of the good and not so good emotions that are going to come with adoption. Alex, so far, as given many different perspectives on adoption that really allows you to see the big picture. After the first episode I’ve been hooked. The guests and stories are powerful and Alex is very engaging. As an adoptive mom I feel like I should be taking notes because it is one great nugget after the next.

I have been listening to everything I can find regarding foster and adoptive parenting, and this is my favorite by far. While no two stories are the same, The Adoptive Mom does a great job of exploring the unique experiences of each family, and never shies away from hard questions. As a foster and adoptive mom myself, this podcast has been so encouraging to me. I can’t wait for more episodes!!
