Join me in this vital episode with Health Psychologist Claire Harris to delve into the complex issue of suicide. Suicide remains a taboo subject, yet it stands as the leading cause of death for individuals under 35 in the UK. On average, this translates to 18 suicides a day, and a staggering 1 in 5 individuals experience suicidal thoughts. Every year on 10th September, World Suicide Prevention Day aims to spotlight this issue, break down stigma, and enhance awareness, advocating a unified message that suicides are preventable (World Health Organization). Claire Harris, Founder and Lead Trainer at Promote Mental Health, specializes in mental health training and consultancy, encompassing Mental Health First Aid, stress management, resilience, work-life balance, and self-care.
