Great show, awful song.
Eli, love the Podcast. Great show, but you MUST change the music. It is terrible. Also, episode 134 is so cringey. The pronouns, the rap song. Cringe.

Great Pod, but the title
I’m an MAMFT student and thoroughly enjoy the podcast. It would be really help if the title included a small descriptor noting the topic. Such as: Episode 1: Jane Doe - CBT Again, thanks for this great resource

Episode titles by subject instead of guest
As a student in an MAMFT program, I have enjoyed many of the episodes. Thanks! My only suggestion would be to title them differently. I’d like for the title to mention the topic each episode is about. The name of the guest (the way titles are now) does not help audiences find subjects they are interested in. I understand guests are known experts. But for someone like me, who is new in the field, just their name does not tell me anything.

Worth It
I have learned a tremendous amount from this podcast on the systemic model of marriage and family therapy. Institutions do not train well on the nuances of the relational model…(at least my program did not) and I was able to glean a lot from each of the people the host brought on. Dr. Eli Karam is a terrific host and does a fabulous job interviewing different personalities. I have sent several episodes to classmates of mine in our MS in Counseling degree program here in California. Thank you for this podcast!

Fluff
I’m not sure who has 20 minutes to spend name-dropping and talking about bios but, I don’t! I’ll go back to “the books”!

It’s not always relatable
The guests and content are usually amazing for a systemic therapist that works in a medical model world. But, often, the guests and host distance themselves from the average listener (provider). I’ve listened for over a year and nearly every episode there is a long rolled out list of “qualifications by association” or experience. “I worked with so and so and such a place” and it almost feels like MFT knowledge isn’t accessible to the professional that can’t afford big conferences, or went to a state school (or online school). I wish guests would spend more time on how the MFT skills and knowledge could be applied in our personal practice, and make their experience in the big places with the big people more accessible.

Outstanding Podcast!
I certainly enjoy Dr. Eli Karam and the AAMFT podcast! Discovered it fairly frequently and added it to my growing list of “podcasts not to miss.” Some of my favorite AAMFT podcast programs thus far have featured the following remarkable individuals: Cloe Madanes, Monica McGoldrick, Manijeh Daneshpour, Richard Schwartz, Patricia Papernow, Jackie Williams-Reade, Scott Sells, and Froma Walsh. I love Dr. Karam’s interviewing style, his questions, and his enthusiasm. Each podcast seems well-edited and is not only interesting but also a great review of some of the people I admire and have learned from along the way (especially the pioneer series - love it!). Thank you AAMFT for providing this terrific podcast. I look forward to listening to all the ones I’ve missed, as well as the ones to come.

Love this podcast
Not only do I get to learn more about specific topics and get recommendations for further reading, I also remember why I am passionate about this Marriage and Family Therapy and systemic approaches. I have been sending and posting specific episodes to many of my colleagues. I have learned so much from this podcast. I highly recommend it!

Great Podcast
Getting the sound issues dialed in, but great for MFTs.

Sound
Can't listen to it very long without sound issues - does this ever get fixed?

Great content, poor sound
I love the content on this podcast, but I end up turning it off fairly quickly because I am having to work to hear what is being said clearly - and there are plenty of other podcasts that have similar content of high quality AND quality sound.

What a great idea!
We can read books written by leaders in our field. We can hear them speak at conferences. We can learn their theories. But what about the "person" behind the theory. Knowing more about what makes leaders "tick," brings their work to life. Thanks, Eli, for doing this!

A treasure
The AAMFT podcast is a treasure. When I was training to become an MFT in the late 1999s, I longed to hear the voices of the leaders in the field, the authors of my books, and innovators of models. The AAMFT podcast provides an easily accessible archive of classic interviews.

Dr. Eli is a great host
Dr. Eli is the MFT voice of our generation. I learn something new every time I listen to one of his podcasts. This should be required listening for all MFT students!

Great Podcast...informative host!
This is a great complement to my training as a MFT. You can tell how passionate and knowledgeable Dr. Eli is about the profession and how much homework he does for each one of his guest. I wish they were released every week...thanks AAMFT! Keep them coming!

My Favorite Podcast
Dr. Eli is my hero! He asks great questions that are relevant to practicing therapists, old and young alike. The interviews with the pioneers are my favorite...keep them coming! It’s like my FT text book coming to life. AAMFT should promote this show better.

Inspiring and insightful
As a graduate student pursuing my MFT degree, coming from a different profession entirely, this podcast provides insights beyond academia. It’s wonderful to hear the innovative ideas in the field that promotes divergent thinking. I highly recommend this to anyone looking into getting this type of work. The quality of the sound has improved since the first episode but the most important thing is the content, which is what I focus on. Keep up the good work!

A dive into the lives of the leaders of systemic therapies
This podcast is more of a personal conversation with leaders of the industry and their journey to become who they are.

Interesting but poor sound quality
A very interesting interview with Dr. Sue Johnson! The sound quality of the interview is inconsistent and full of echos.
